Thoughts on week 1 vs. 49ers?

I don't think rust will play much of a factor for Bosa considering starters don't play in the preseason anyways. He'll be as rusty as his teammates beside him and the players across the field. It's not like he's learning a new defense and there hasn't been much turnover. As long as he kept himself in shape he should be fine.

It'll really be interesting to see how the humidity factors in especially in the 2nd half when guys are getting tired.

Starters may not play in the preseason games, but they get plenty of work in practice. There is no way to simulate hitting without actually doing it. That said, I think he's good enough that he will still be one of the best players on the field even if he signed Saturday and suited up Sunday.

 

Always amazes me when some nimrod shows their lack of intellect by saying “pay the man”

 

they should think about all the poor RB's that will suffer as the result of Bosa getting the bag.

 

And there's no way to simulate the endurance needed to play 4Q when you're getting at most 5 minutes of gametime each preseason game. Practice can't emulate that either. Everyone on the field will be rusty.

No.....it's like a guy getting ready to fight by just running, lifting, speedbag , and heavy bag workout without sparring. There is a reason nobody does that.

 

correct. I do like that Tomlin played our started in pre-season. He knew there was NO ROOM for starting slow and is giving it our best shot out of the gate. THIS GAME could determine playoff seating in the AFCN. Common opponents, all of that crap. JUST WIN BABY!

i just finished Swamp Kings on NetFlix. They "trained for war, trained to kill" - as some of the players said. We ought to do the same.

 

I heard on one of the ESPNs today(I don't know how true it is)that every team that faced the 49ers lost their next game....all (I believe) except KC....who had a bye the next week.

I heard on ESPN 23 that every team that faced the 49ers in 2023-24 season won the next game by 20. ESPN 23 is their flagship clairvoyant station.
