Thoughts on week 1 vs. 49ers?

The Purdy hype is really odd to me. Last pick in draft and going to NFCCG boosted his status but the NFC had pretty much the Eagles last year. Pickett is in a Conference with Burrow, Lawrence, KC bum, Allen, and now idiot Rodgers. I don't fear him coming into the Burgh. Matter of fact, I'd love seeing him get slammed a few times by some AFCN boys.

Although I'm all Purdy when they play other 3 in our division. They have Ravens and Bengals in SF. So damn glad we didn't have to travel there.

 

Why does swallowing as the preferred observed action come to mind?

 

Bosa hasn't been sitting on his couch eating cheetos.

After a deal is made, he will be showing up to his first game with red-dyed lips.

 

Bosa reportedly stays in shape, but "football shape" is another animal, can only get there PLAYING football, so we shall see.

 

How embarrassing to be underdogs at home to an average SF team. But this is where the great coach Mike Tomlin has brought a once elite team.

 

The only embarrassing thing I see here is your lack of knowledge about the NFL. The 49ers were in the NFC Championship game last season. If they hadn't been down to their fourth quarterback, there is a damn good chance the would have won it. They were the league's top-ranked defense and are expected to be one of the top three or four teams in the NFL this season.

You're talking about the San Fransisco 49ers? You know, the team that many experts believe have the strongest roster in the NFL over the last several years?

Oh.....I guess you didn't know that.

 

If making a Championship Game three out of the last four seasons constitutes as mediocre, I believe roughly 28 NFL Fanbases would jump at the chance for that problem; a Super Bowl Appearance doubly so and no less.

This game could be a preview of the Super bowl. The Steelers will be underdogs then too.

Kittle has a lingering groin issue and missed practice last week. I won't believe Bosa is out until he is listed as inactive.

I think others have mentioned but one comparable is TJ's two sacks, five quarterback hits and forced fumble 48 hours after signing. TJ was a bit different scenario as he was with the team but not practicing. You have to wonder if the adrenaline and want to outweigh the rust after being made the highest paid defensive player, at least for a game. The position requires less coordination with other players and I expect he is physically ready with the speed and strength. Another concern is they move him around left, right, and with stunts so they will try to find a favorable match-up.

 

I doubt he’s out of shape and he hasn’t forgotten how to play so maybe a little rusty

 

I assume he will be his usual dominant self if he plays. He may just have to sit out more.

 

The Steelers went 9-3 when holding teams to under 24 points, and the 49ers failed to get to 24 five times on the road last year.

 

3rd downs most likely. Would be a problem facing someone else then getting him on a passing down with a full head of steam as a changeup.

 

I will believe that the moment the make him inactive and not a minute sooner.
