Why so is Shanahan conservative early season or why so would they likely whoop us mid year?

Shanahan is pretty close to an offensive genius and likes to keep his playbook secretive early season so he can unleash it for more meaningful games. It’s also a non conference game and the first game of the season which plays into that thought process even more.

They would likely beat us convincingly mid season because at that point teams are peaking and hitting their stride and they have a better team than us.

LMAO, yea I don't buy it either. The playbook is there, period. I do not think with holding plays is an issue, but how you scheme and plan for an opponent, and how you own players have adjusted from camp in setting up the plan for the year. The first month of the season is normally a setting the stride period for both O and D. IDK the 49's look, but the Steelers have something like 24 +/- new players on the 53, 6 of our 7 draft picks made it (Trice likely would have as well). With all of that new and young blood it's going to take time for communication and chemistry to gel. They know the playbook and each week practice different sets, but until you are in real time you won't see the results.

If we are striving to be the best, we have to face and beat the best. Hopefully they lose his cup and his jock strap shrinks, getting a handicap never hurts. lol

You don’t think teams dumb down playbooks at certain times during a season? Or you don’t think the 49ers are better than us? Either way you are 100% wrong but carry on.

49ers coaching alone is probably 5X what Pittsburgh can offer.

If you don’t think teams dumb down a playbook to not show their full arsenal for say key divisional or playoff games then yea, sure.

Your just used to watching Steelers offense which only has about 10 play variations anytime during a season.

Hmm ....How many SB wins do they have??? Shanahan is a excellent OC, but that doesn't make Him a excellent coach. Oh Yeah, and before You say it. I believe 49er had just been in the SB 3 years before He took over.

I like our chances. Even if Bosa signs, he won't be in optimal game shape or know the intimacies of the play calls. They have a real issue at kicker secondary to injuries, and Brock Purdy is still on a limited pitch count and who knows if he can sustain the success he had last year. The key will be the containing and limiting Christian McCaffrey. If they can do that, Stillers will win for sure.

I’m seeing Bosa is still holding out. If this isn’t figured out by this weekend you have to think he misses our game which is obviously great news for us.

Who was the best team the 49ers beat last year in the regular season?...The underachieving Chargers?

    my thoughts on week 1.

did i wake up on the right side of the dirt this morning?

did i take the garbage can to the curb?

what am i going to take to my sons for the game to eat?

will the wife make me breakfast this morning?

where the heck did i leave my terrible towel from the last game last year?

did i take all my pills this morning?

    did i feed the dog?

did i set my fantasy line up?

will jeh find the right seat today at the game?

    should i pee before kickoff?

I think a coach who takes a loss to protect the depth of his playbook isn't employed for long.

I don’t think Kyle Shanahan will have much issue finding employment as one of the NFLs brightest minds. I’m not saying he will lose on purpose to save some playbook. I’m saying teams don’t always use the entire playbook every game especially early in the year for a non conference opponent. I’m surprised people don’t realize this?

The point of my initial statement was this is a great spot to get a team like this in. Week 1 before they are a well oiled machine.
