I'm surprised the 49ers let the Bosa holdout drag on, he's the reigning DPOY and he's still young, for a team with Super Bowl aspirations it doesn't seem like a good move.

I think there will be overlapping games on ABC/ESPN.

My bad, it's week two when ABC/ESPN will both show a primetime game.

Agreed. Steelers fans would be losing their collective sh!t if this was Watt.

Apparently they don't want any competition for their innaugural Aaron Rogers/NY Jets lovefest. Seeing as week 2 against Cleveland our competition is Panthers/Saints we should be okay.

Right. He showed up to practices but sat out team drills. Signed the deal 3 days before the first game.

I'd argue they are not the same.

TJ skipped team drills, but he was still at every practice.
He'd be at all the lectures, instructed on any changes in the playbook, and the Steelers staff could monitor his workouts.
The media would still report on his activity, so the fans wouldn't get too freaked out.

    Bosa has stayed away completely.
Maybe he is staying in shape, maybe he is staying informed about their plans, but even in the best case scenario he isn't bonding with his teammates.
The uncertainty of not hearing anything about Bosa helps drive fans "losing their collective sh!t".

This 100%. What Bosa, and Watt did was totally different.

Some though kinda did. As others were quick to point out though, Colbert usually bides his time when it came to contracts; save for Big Ben though his case is entirely different. Even took Troy to the 11th hour to do his!!

NFL Agents League Wide sure as hell did though! :lolol:

One more aspect to note is how each GM conducted (conducts in Lynchs Case) themselves on negotiating Contracts. Colbert gave offers and was willing to compromise some but wouldn't go higher than what he offered. If thar fell through, Colbert had more than enough patience to let the players sweat it out; a "Who Blinks First" case.

John Lynch has had some of these cases happen before.. such as Deebo Samuel but has done quick work of others like Fred Warner, Arik Armstead and George Kittle. Now, while Kittle and Warner are definitley note worthy... Armstead over Bosa does seem iffy. Even if his Rookie Contract was set to expire, how his contract is structured did the 49ers little favors. Adding Christian McCaffrey made things even worse. As it stands currently per OverTheCap, the 49ers have $9,975,892 in available Cap Space.

Add the fact that Bosa is looking for upward of $34 Million a Year and the picture becomes that much clearer; John Lynch has done a poor job managing the cap to get his players signed. Even with the Lance Trade... it still is not enough to satiate Nick's desires.

I’m extremely excited to see this team play together for a full game. They have talent, great chemistry and a QB that looks poised to make a leap. Stoked is an understatement
