Sorry for the laziness in not finding the actual quote. But Peterson talking about the 49ers offense having a tell and he'll tell us about it after he gets an interception is annoying.

I feel like he talks too much and really wanted to see that aspect of the Steelers to be washed out with the likes of Claypool, JuJu, etc. Wish he would zip it.

I found out about it from the SteelersDepot article:
    https://steelersdepot.com/2023/09/p...when-i-get-my-pick-sunday-well-talk-about-it/

I agree with the commenters in that discussion who think fan outrage over Peterson's comments are overblown.
He doesn't provide any bulletin-board material. (Doesn't say they are a bad team or anything.)
Doesn't say what the tell is, so it doesn't help them.
He does say that Purdy looks for McCaffrey when under pressure, but that is hardly a secret.

Some have commented that PP might be trolling the 49ers.
Imagine if Purdy spends the whole game thinking about his movements, worried about any tells.
There is an old saying: if you want to stop a centipede, have it describe in what order it moves it's legs when it walks.

The 49ers cornerbacks are average, the Steelers should be able to do well in the passing game.

The Steelers play the 49ers, the Browns and Bengals play each other in the season opener, the Ravens get to play the Texans with a rookie QB .

The Ravens got the highest point spread in the league. LoL 3 offense lineman are hurt for the Texans, and they are starting a rookie.

So? The Ravens will also have to play the 49ers this season. The Browns and Bengals will also have to play them.

It might be the perfect opener because it's as far from a must-win game as you can get. To me, two things make games this early in the season feel like a must-win. One is that they are against a weak opponent, the sort of opportunity a team can't afford to waste. The other factor is that it comes against a division opponent, or at least one in the conference. The Ravens can't afford a loss to the Texans. The Browns or Bengals will open the season 0-1 in the division. If the Steelers lose, it would be a defeat outside the division and conference. It would be a loss to arguably the best team on their schedule. If they win, it is a huge momentum-builder. If not, assuming they come through it healthy and they are at least in the game, it's easier to shake off than others might be.

Most importantly, it's a great test after what was a relatively-easy preseason.

Wow. Heyward-Bey had the game of his life in that one. It may have been a great game for Shazier, but man, Heyward was blowing plays up in that one. I hope to see more of that tomorrow.

Sadly, we also saw what eventually ended Shazier's career. He hit a runner with his head down late in that game and was injured.

Coach Tomlin says the Steelers are going to be aggressive against the 49ers: “We are going to be aggressive, appropriately so, moving forward. Understand that they are very good at what they do, and part of being good at what you do defensively is keeping a lid on it. So, we have to proceed with caution. But when you’re pursuing greatness, risk-taking is a part of it, calculated risk-taking. That’s what you’re talking about when you’re drawing up big plays schematically.”

I am excited to see how our OL handles this challenge. The 49ers front 7 is tough.

I hope to see out WRs and TEs getting lots of YAC. Let these guys make some plays.

Defense must cause chaos for the 49ers offense. Break up their timing. No free releases for their receivers.

Watching NFL channel pre game and Steelers are considered Underdogs.

During warmups I see 3 Centers snapping to 3 QBs.

The good news: Larry Ogunjobi is active.

The bad news: So is George Kittle.
