Thoughts on Bill Cowher

He still chose scrubs like Kent Graham in free agency, and drafted Jim Miller, Cowher had no clue about the QB position. Never forget he was going to pass on Ben , until he was overruled by Dan Rooney.

 

Great defensive coach. Frustratingly conservative on offense. They did have Bettis though so that could be part of the reason why.

At the time, there were as many calls to get rid of Cowher as there are to get rid of Tomlin now. But he was a solid coach.

 

Bill Cowher was like Andy Reid.True elite head coach who only needed a high level QB to dominate

Andy Reid will now play his 3rd super bowl in 5 years with Mahomes and Cowher was 27-4 with Ben Roethlisberger in 2004 and 2005 and the success would have been even bigger if he would have stayed and he was still very motivated

For his 15 years, only the loss against the chargers was bad....In 2001, the special team were awful all year long despite their 13-3 record and the pats scored 2 special team TDs....The drop pick 6 of Porter were also a killer, like Kordell's performance

Other losses were against better teams

 

I don't think the steelers would have a chance against the rams in 2001....It would been a awful matchup for the steelers
