I do this every year for the last however many years and so once again I put electronic dot to dot and bring the joy that is the Steeler's Monday Night Magic.

So yeah the Steelers don't lose on Monday Night Football. You can argue with me, tell me I'm wrong and even find the few instances over the last 27 years that they did lose a MNF game but I will still tell you that they don't lose on Monday night.

Wait Thorn, you said the Steelers don't tank on purpose either, how can we trust what you say?

Believe me when I say for whatever reason this team since Cowher took over from Noll and Tomlin from Cowher just shows up on Monday night. Sunday Night is about 70% for and 30% against and Thursday is a mixed bag but Monday night is just magic. Last season fans were telling me but Fitzmagic is happening in Tampa. The Bucs are looking strong, it will be a tough matchup. What happens? Fitzmagic is chased from the game. The Vanimal gives the stiff arm from hell. and MY GOD Mankind has been broken in half!

So have faith my friends, Monday Night Magic is coming and its an all Steelers Show.

    What a rush!

0-3 Bengals Vs. 0-3 Steelers. I'm not sure this one is going to break the ratings meter.

I tell you the league has to be getting calls from ABC because the last two monday night games have been just horrid. Heck the night the news about Fitzpatrick being traded to Pittsburgh broke the on air crew talked about that for the fourth quarter more than they did the action on the field. They got to be hoping for a real competitive matchup

Damn Scott Van Pelt just said the last home loss on Monday night for the Steelers was in 91. I was a junior in high school and more worried about girls than football.

Was that the Giants game? Bubby got benched for the qb whose name shall never be uttered without contempt again?

I know that was a night game. Just not sure if it was at home and on Monday night. I was stationed at Moody AFB at the time and was about 4 months away from meeting the girl who would become my wife of 27 years and counting.

I'm thinking that was the game where the Steelers rallied in the 4th and tied it up in the final seconds with an Eric Green TD, but he was penalized for taunting which gave the Giants a short field for Simms to get in FG range. The Giants kicked the GW FG as time expired.

I don't recall the specifics. I just remember a certain QB coming into the game and the team rallying only to come up short.

That, and an absolute BS call where a Giant defender TACKLED our receiver before the ball even got there, and another Giant defender intercepted the ball... which should have been called back due to DPI. But the DPI was never called. Yeah.. I guess I always focused on perceived bad calls. :roflmao:

I didn't even own a TV then. Watched the game in someone else's room on a 14 inch TV. I was just happy to even see a Steeler game in south Georgia.

    I found this:

    [IMG]1991 Steelers 20 vs Giants 23 MNF

Trailing 20-0 and showing nothing offensively late in the 3rd, Neil O'Donnell replaces Bubby Brister and leads the Steelers on a furious comeback, first driving the Steelers to a pair of quick Gary Anderson FGs, then connecting with Louis Lipps for a 16-yd TD to narrow the score to 20-13 with 4-1/2 minutes left. After the defense stops the Giants for a third straight series, O'Donnell leads a 68-yd drive in only 1:29, capping it with a 5-yd TD to Eric Green to tied the score 20-20 with 50 seconds left. But the officials throw a "excessive celebration" flag (one of the most ridiculous rules ever) pushing the kickoff back and in a critical blunder, Anderson kicks the ball out of bounds setting the Giants up with great field position at the 40. Hostetler hits Meggett for 16 and scrambles for 18 more to set up former Steeler Matt Bahr at the Pittsburgh 26, and Bahr hits the 44-yarder with 4 seconds to go.

I remembered it being Simms at QB, but it was Hostetler.

    *Bump*

Once again people for whatever reason this team shows up on Monday Night. Yeah any given Sunday/Monday and whatever you want to say for reasons this is a trap game or playing down to blah blah blah, Fitzmagic again and so on. When the Lights are on the Steelers will show up. Two things you can count on in this league, the Cheats will Cheat and win their division in a run away and on Monday night for 27 years the Steelers come to play.
