We had 4 failed 2 pointers lol. Should've been 34-28 then I think with them needing a td our D would've changed and we would've won.

I know I'm gonna take heat for this but.........Ben. He needs to be consistent for as close to 60 minutes as he can.....this O goes in the tank way more often than it should and he plays a part in it...Accuracy and play selection and situational football....way too much talent to struggle for extended periods of the game...

Even a casual fan, has to really understand that Ben is a BIG part of bad redzone offense. I wish we knew how
much he changes the original play call from Todd Haley. I like Ben, but he must be more productive for us to
get where we need to be. Our secondary defense is not great, we will have to consistently put up large amounts of points to win games.

Ben needs to play every snap like its inside the 2 minute warning. Not sure what he's thinking or doing for the other 56 minutes of the game.

Yeah that's what I said....really?.....that's what you took from that? You gonna sit there and tell me he shoulders no blame? Oh so I guess what you're saying is he's damn near perfect....FFS.

Guess you'll be happy when he retires and we've got Jones and Dobbs competing for the starting job. Too funny.

Your comment is absolutely hilarious and even you said you'll take heat for it. And you're right about that.

Without Ben, the Steelers are still sitting at 4 rings. Ben is not the reason this team hasn't gotten #7. Try looking at the other side of the ball. The secondary is pathetic and has been for years.

He may be reminding you of the away games at Ravens, Miami and Eagles...

You're obviously as thick headed as Ben was in your avatar....there's no point in debating with you when it's clear reading comprehension isn't your strong suit....did I say he sucked..No....did I say we would be better off without him...No. Did I say he's the reason we don't have 7...again the answer is no. Defense may be a weakness now but without a elite D in 05 and 08 we would still be sitting at 4 too.
I choose to hold my franchise QBs to the highest level of play and no one can argue there has been plenty of examples where his play hasn't been up to par....

As much as I hate Brady and their franchise no one can argue his greatness. I want the players on my teams I root for to be the best and IMO I feel Ben can and needs to improve in certain aspects of his game.
The premise of the thread and the question asked was "who needs to step up?" In truth the whole team needs to step up in order to win another SB. The NFL these days is built on QB play and the teams with franchise QBs hold a distinct advantage over those who don't....we happen to have one of those guys(I am a Big Big Ben fan) that doesn't mean I'm not gonna hold his feet to the fire when his play is subpar ...

How many years now have we been hearing "The skies the limit " for this O. Well we have had our moments but there's also been as many times that this O has disappeared and whether you like to admit it or not Ben has had a hand in its inconsistency...long story short,Ben is not beyond reproach...he can "step up " too..

I think the fact that the nicknames "Good Ben" and "Bad Ben" exist says something undeniable about #7 stepping up. He's the linchpin of our offense, which in turn is the dominant side of our team.

I get the feeling that BB gets into a "sandlot" mindset or perhaps tries to give the ball to certain players. I'm happy to be wrong, but I'd love to see Roethlisberger -- and everyone else -- always focused on the end goal.

Ben makes mistakes of course. But over the past 13 years he is a Top 5 QB hands down.

We can have high expectations but unrealistic ones tend not to work out.

We go as far as #7 takes us. Most important man on the roster hands down.

Sure he's not as good as Brady but he's really really good.

Wished that had happened. He may have cost himself a job though by auditioning while Porter was still employed by them.

Not something the Rooneys probably go for.

MmmmK. The title of the thread was "Who needs to take the next step". Ben has already won 2 SBs so not sure what step you expect him to make. Thick headed LMAO. I'm not the one who expects him to never make a mistake but apparently you expect him to be perfect. If anything was thick headed, it would be that expectation.

Well Brady has 5 and he continues to "take steps" to get better....again putting words in my mouth ...never said I expected perfection I just simply said there are things he can improve on,which should be the goal every year....but you seem to think he can do no wrong either...Ok so he's won two SBs and he's better than Landry and Dobbs so I guess we should be happy with whatever he does. The goal in professional sports is to win championships and you do that by trying to improve your game and not rest on your laurels....
You are wearing your Big Ben glasses if you can't see areas where he can improve....accuracy and decision making are the two biggest. This team has the weapons on O to be a juggernaut and like I said hey have been way to inconsistent for the talent they have. Ben has been part of the reason for that, like it or not. Like one of the other posters said there is good Ben and bad Ben......there is road Ben and home Ben you can't just blame that on everything around him without him shouldering some as well....I am a Ben fan,I have 2 of his jerseys...I've supported him through his off the field troubles....I respect he's one tough SOB..
but I can also say he can take another "step"....done arguing. Nobody wants to see him lead us to number7 more than me...trust me.
