He was at least getting snaps

It was the right thing to do

He will be better for it in the long run

This has to work out or the Steelers draft next year will be impacted in not a good way.
Bottomline, Jones is out of excuses once playing his 'natural position' this season.

Almost as important is Fautanu working out at RT which isn't a given either. Honestly, the OL is still a ? at this point.

We talked about this before the draft as well on here. The OL looks very solid in the middle but the OT spots are still in question. Jones didn't look out of position last season, he looked slow, and he took the wrong blocking assignments multiple times. LT may be his more natural place on the OL, but there is more to his game that needs to improve beyond which end of the line he plays. The things we do know about BroJo is what's concerning.
TF got injured so early we never really got a chance to see what he can or can't do. He's more of a question mark due to what we don't know.

So yeah, 12 personnel sounds like a fine idea.

    Yep.

BroJo panning out does wonders for Pittsburghs draft plans heading into 2026.

Jones supposedly lost about 20 pounds since last season, so perhaps that will help.

Perhaps. But doesn't that remain a question at the position?

Really need Jones to step up this year, if he does we have the makings of a very good line.

If Fautanu also shows up?! That would be a foundation of a potentially great one.

Too optimistic?! Sure. That said, Fautanu playing out of his mind with Brodericks development going on the upswing will pay off in a massive way.

I thought he started off his career here nicely then fell off badly, the injury cost him badly I think, but he's out of time and excuses at LT. We really need him and TF to hit.

With Rodgers here now his quick release will help the young line as they mature. If they play well right away and give Rodgers time to throw then we might have something. We still need another receiving threat though.

I’m actually not worried about Fautanu, I know we didnt get much to go on but I just have faith he will play well.

For me it’s all about Jones and if he can finally realize his potential back at his natural spot.

Still surprise Jones is still our LT right now...I think at some point,Tomlin will put him in a another position even if Jones is great at the LT

Tomlin loves the versatility way too much, unless if this is his best friends Dan Moore

    Indeed he was.

That said, merely 55 or so snaps in the regular season isn't enough to fully expect him to become even better; doubly so with recovering from an injury. I did like what I saw but who knows how Troy will look heading into Year 2?! He isn't nearly as much of a question mark as Broderick is but he still has his own questions to answer.
