No new thoughts in years. Sounds just like our football team!

    AMEN

I don't hate the man, but have great disdain for the head coach. I use the word "coach" very losely, he's a daddy and bestus buddy, has almost NO coaching ability, nor can he hire GOOD coordinators. His decision making on hires is very suspect and he needs that taken from him. I'd rather he be fired or for him to decide to move on, but sadly for us, neither appears to be on the near horizon.

Cowherd (I listen because he is on in m work van, lol) gave some stats on Mike McCarthy today after it was reported it looks like he will stay as HC in Dallas. I was surprised on how good the stats were compared with others, they still are what they are (mostly due to Jones).

Not trying to compare them as HC's, or Rooney and Jones. My point is the HC's are not as bad as some might think, but the team is not likely achieve much more out of them. There is always the drama of trying to get the next guy, 2 HOF HC's, possibly another in MT, but everything reach's an end.

I may not recall this correctly, but Noll was given that option. He could stay as HC, but basically everyone around him (except Joe Green) would be fired and his power would be diminished. His decision to retire was what the organization needed, I really believe the same option should have been given to MT after Colbert left (and he stayed a year or 2 to long). Omar should have been given an opportunity with a clean slate.

Context is needed. Ben was not 100% for the end of 2011 season. He was hurt from first Browns game through Broncos wildcard playoff game. And Ryan Clark was out at FS... which is huge because the dropoff in talent from Clark to Mundy was massive. I know those are excuses... but they are damn good excuses. The loss to Tebow was bad... but nowhere near the worst. That would be during the Cowher years..... AFC Championship loss to Chargers after '94 season.

When his book came out it seemed like our High Schools made it mandatory reading. Lots of teens were walking around with that book.

Great seats when the Pirates actually won a Wild Card game. I loved what he said about the Pirates owner. "At some point you got to write the check".

I was in Pittsburgh when one of the Batman movies was being filmed. Not sure if it was his??

That was my turning point. I always hope for a miracle, but it isn't going to happen with Tomlin, who is a great motivator but below average game manager and poor tactician. We don't have a long term franchise quarterback and I don't trust Tomlin can produce an upper tier offense. I dread the day we don't have TJ Watt on defense.

We contend for playoff spots, but that game against the Chiefs showed we are nowhere near a Superbowl contender. Not even close.

We also lost Keisel and Hampton in that game. Pretty sure we lost Woodly as well. The defense was absolutely decimated in that game. Let’s not forget that Denver also had a great defense and running game that year

Last I checked, Tomlin is the head coach...of a FOOTBALL team. I know it doesn't seem like a football team, more like a Sarcastaball team thanks to our incompetent head coach
