I was moments away from posting the idea that the Steelers use some of their picks to move up and nab Alameda.

In the middle of this they actually did it.

Love it! The Steelers have had an unbelievably good draft.

Couldn't be happier right now! Get arguably a Top 2 NT in Round 4. Good job Colbert! Way to move up and get your guy!

    This is a fantastic pick.

Stil kind of unclear on what they gave up to get him though. NFLN said they flipped a 6th round pick, but flipped how? Did they give the Skins a 6th rounder or did they swap positions in the 6th round?

It's about time...now we need a true Inside or Outside linebacker.

they swapped picks with the Skins in the 4th. Plus, the Skins got the Steelers 6th round pick. The Steelers still have their 5th round and all their 7th round picks.

I'm shocked they pulled the trigger on a trade...but I'm glad they did!

Just when you think that Colbert can't do any better - he one up's himself! Very methodical draft! Not sexy - but very surgically addressing specific areas of need with very good players.

I was anticipating that they'd like Chapman more than Ta'amu, because he is a "better" height and not oversized, with room to grow. And I haven't watched much tape of Ta'amu but everything I've read says he got his ass kicked too many times by guys he should have beaten.

I knew when we traded up we'd get one of those guys, and I fully support that move, 100%. I thought it would be Chapman, but the important thing is that they had the option of both guys there and got to choose, not settle. I'm sure they see more potential with Ta'amu, plus he doesn't have the short-term health concern that Chapman has. And with John Mitchell and (bad word) LeBeau to work with, I'm sure we'll get the most out of him.

Incredible draft so far. I have never been this happy with a draft on draft day.

A lot have said that Ta'Amu is the most "pure 1 technique" in the draft. I liked Chapman, but liked Ta'Amu more. He has weight questions but what NT doesn't? And his motor is actually pretty good for a guy thats 350 pounds.

Arguably the best NT in this class.

Another great p/u and worthy gamble. Solid draft thus far

Whoever responded to the ESPN poll would disagree - somehow 17% of respondants graded the Steelers draft as a 'F'. That tells me that 17% of respondants are either idiots or Ravens fans!

I love this draft, no matter how it ends for us.

I'm confused about how you would tell the difference between and idiot and a Ravens fan....

Absolutely, our D and O-lines are now set for years.

Question the 3rd rounder but that aside a great job. I think we have 3 starters in 2 years time and maybe another good contributer, from 5 picks.

This guy was slated as high as 2nd round by some so it's another steal.

Good to hear and what I've read here is reassuring, seems he's a heady player at least, though his size and speed area worry. That said, stats never played a game of football.

Our 1st rounder is an A+. Top value, high ceiling, high floor. A+

Our 2nd rounder an A or A-. You can't deny Adams' talent, he seems to have cleaned up at least some, and the risk is so much smaller in the 2nd.

Our 3rd rounder is questionable because our system doesn't seem like a good match, but he was slated to go in the 3rd so the value is fine. It's a C for now.

Our 4th rounder is good value again at a position of need. A.

How do you grade that anything below A-? Anyone who voted C or below is just trying to drag down our grade. Although I'm sure that happens to all the teams to some degree. Although 40% or whatever it was seems high for that.

Our 5th rounder could also be easily graded an A or B.

I liked Chapman more because he plays more like Casey does and is probably more polished and ready to step in. Looking at Ta'amu athletichally, I think Ta'amu has a higher ceiling, but I think he is going to have to be coached up big time. I don't see him starting this year at all.
