I was PO'd when AFC got Lawrence. AFC was getting bombarded with franchise QB's. (not us) I was sure Trevor was another one.

He is 25. I wouldn't cry if he ended up a Steeler after an amazing deal we make;)

No harm in asking. The Jags could pick another QB after Lawrence's off-year with their high pick. But this year's crop of QBs is so bad at the top that I can't seem them dealing Lawrence.

I believe that the Steelers made the call for Trevor Lawrence, but I think the offer of a 1st and 2nd is totally made up.

Lawrence was benched last year, so Khan and company could have reached out to the Jags just to ask what their future plans were with Lawrence.

He missed time with a shoulder injury, then they shut him down due to a significant concussion Dec. 4. He would likely cost more than a No. 1 and a No. 2.

For Herbert I would. For Lawrence no way.

You hit the nail on the head. Trevor Lawrence has had better coaching and weapons in Jax than he will get in Pittsburgh. No way the Steelers should trade their draft away for a bust. If the Jaguars couldn't develop Trevor, why would anyone think the Steelers can.

Agree with most of what you said. IMHO, Herbert would flop in Pittsburgh with Popcorn as HC. Herbert is good, but not on the same level as Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Hurts, etc. I'd rank Herbert in the 2nd tier with LJ, Goff, Stroud, Stafford, Love, Daniels.

Herbert has flopped on his own with 3 different head coaches .

Here’s the thing. The jaguars don’t currently have a GM. Personally I would take this rumor with a dump truck or two full of salt

Could somebody tell me what he has accomplished
in his career up to this point? Has he improved since drafted?
He is what 5 years in and still not making an impact.

This is one of those slack season stories. The NFL season is over, the Pirates are just starting spring training (and who cares very much about them anyway). The NFL draft is a long way off. There is not a great deal to talk about at this time of year, so someone came up with this nothing burger story. And even if the call was indeed made, so what? Inquiries like that are probably made every week. Khan would be derelict in his duty if inquiries like that were not made.
When I read about the alleged draft capital cost, and the preposterous cap hits, I think it sounds dangerously close to the DeShaun Watson debacle, without multiple masseuses being involved of course. And we all know how that has turned out.

My concern with Herbert is that he has wilted in most of the big moments in his career. In a typical regular season game, he’s great (unless he has to lead a 4th quarter comeback). I don’t know that a coach can fix that.

He’s still young but this is a big year for him with Harbaugh.

He has been a disappointment but he’s still young and has the talent. If we had a chance at him we should consider it. Rodgers or Russ at this stage is a joke and Fields can’t really pass.

Fields hasn't been on good teams like Herbert has .
