Take it with a grain of salt not being reported by Schefter or Rapoport yet.

There goes our cap space, if we trade for him.

Give up their first and second round pick this year no way.

Are you saying that is a bad deal for the Steelers?

I don't know if Trevor is just overrated or stuck in Jax...but if he is a true franchise guy a 1st and a 2nd for a 25 year old franchise QB is a no brainer.

Lawrence has/had better coaching in Jax... than he would have here, unless Arthur Smith is given Arians-like control. He has better weapons in Jax. Jax has cap space and drafts early. He's a middle-of-the-pack QB, overrated like Herbert.

But Trevor has really only shown to be a franchise QB for one year?

I'd trade a first and a second for Justin all day. Overrated or not.

I wouldn't. Steelers should focus on 2026 draft for QB. Roll with a free agent QB in '25.

It's probably a fake story Jacksonville doesn't even have a GM, but they would be better off giving up picks in 2025 and 2026 if it were true.

Agreed, but it is a moot point. Herbert isn't going anywhere.

That’s interesting and I like the aggressive thinking by the Steelers, not a single fan ever thought about trading for him but Id have to say no for the compensation. Lawrence has shown glimpses of being a franchise guy but hasn’t put it all together yet. Im intrigued though if they can work out a package more favorable for the Steelers.

Just an FYI this was reported by Bill Burr of the Big 10 Network. He's claiming a source within the Jaguars organization.

I would trade a #1 and whatever else for Trevor or Justin.
Jacksonville is messed up. They do have a new staff, specifically to help their Franchise QB as Pederson failed miserably at.
I believe there was an inquiry, but it isn't going anywhere. Sometimes a new staff will want to go with their guys.

Chargers are going in the right direction; Harbaugh will have re-tooled his team by this fall.
    Justin Herbert isn't going anywhere.

I was one of the few who called out Lawrence as overrated before he was drafted (yes, gratuitous pat on the back here). I still don’t see a franchise QB when I watch him play. Does he have the physical tools? Yes. So does Justin Fields. I think he may have a bit more upside and value than Fields, but nowhere near the comp that’s being discussed.

I don't disagree, but either way they are going to have to give up some serious draft capital. They won't have a high enough pick next year to get one of the better options in the 26 draft.

The only QB that can immediately contribute in this existing offense is one that can run (i.e. Jackson, Hurts…). That OL is too porous right now.

Does Lawrence make this team that much better? No. We can't protect him and are lacking WR's. He is not good enough and would be a waste of picks.

The only QB I would trade for is to fleece the Bengals for Joe Burrow. Gladly give up our 1 and 2 for him. Throw in a receiver, they can have another pick.

The Steelers need to find their next QB in the draft, that might take a couple of years.

I agree it has to be in draft. Lot of luck involved. Montana and Brady were later rounds. I'm prepared to take the hit for a few years until Tomlin is done. (I'm a Pirate fan, I'm use to loses) I want any drafted QB to have a new regime to guide him.
