I like Deonte Banks for the Steelers too, but I don't know if they sent any scouts to his pro day.

Julius Brents from Kansas State wouldn't be too bad of a pick honestly. Not the fastest but ridiculously explosive and quick. He has also shown to be able to play inside and outside; something not even the likes of Ahmad Sauce Gardner was often tasked to do during his historical Rookie Campaign. He is currently seen as a predominant Zone Corner. I do believe he has the makeup to be a rock solid man to man corner; doubly so if someone like P2 is teaching him.

Again, Brents may not have 4.4 to 4.3 speed but few corners can turn on a dime like him; doubly so at his size being 6'3.

Now... all this said and, please forgive me for saying this..... I have a NASTY feeling Kelee Ringo is going to be considered. Pittsburgh sent the literal house to Georgia's Pro Day and Kelee is likely one of the players they scouted. If I am not mistaken, they have also brought him in for a Pre Draft Visit. Now, he does remind me a bit of Jimmy Smith but also of Xaiver Rhodes purely from a build standpoint. Either way, count me out on Ringo.

Peterson's skills have dropped off and he did occasionally lapse. I'm not into making excuses for him, but he is still a quality Corner.
He wasn't by far, the Vikings problem on defense, but it was time to change and getting younger is the order of the day for them.
In our case, we picked up a vet to help and at the right time should we draft a young hotshot CB.
So, unless it all goes to #$%, it's nothing short of a win-win.

To be very clear, Peterson is not a long-term answer. Just a short-term rental - which makes me think they are drafting that hot-shot CB at 17.

Clear as mud. Each seem to have a traits that shuffle the rating. The scouts are going to have to weigh the scales for best fit and availability in the draft. Let’s hope their evaluations are on point.

Supposedly Weidle (sp) won’t be in the draft room on the day, but I really hope he is. I get the feeling his brain and experience is too critical to not use on the day.

Todd McShay’s latest mock draft for the Steelers:

    17th - T Broderick Jones (Georgia)
32nd - DT Mazi Smith (Michigan)
49th - CB Cam Smith (South Carolina)

It's hard to really tell at this point. Can the new LG shore up not only that position, but also bring legitimacy to that whole side. I believe they like Moore, does not mean if one of the top prospects is there they don't grab him, but right now CB seems to be the higher priority. That said nothing would surprise me. Dline and even edge, this is more than about just this year. If they feel the BPA is unique and can be the foundation you grab him.

Got to be OT that creates biggest impact for us. If all OT `s considered elite are gone by 17, then I would be ok with elite player at any other position of greatest need.

I think all will probably be gone, but one may be left. I was previously thinking we might trade up to get one. Not sure about anything now.

Receivers are even higher value now than they used to be with the crazy dollar sized contracts out there. Slightly more chance a team passes on an OT they would like to have to get rookie contract on an elite WR. Would love to see a couple teams ahead of us reach a little bit for a receiver and we get a future pro bowl OT fall to us with the first pick. I seem to remember something like that happen when Pouncey fell to us years ago. Unexpectedly he was there.

Have not really looked into each team ahead of us in round 1 to see how it might pan out as they pick for their #1 need. It might be time to look. Wonder if there is a mock draft worth anything. Usually there is a lock for about 5 or 6 guys to be gone in the top 10 then after that it`s all murky.

Eh… I don’t have much faith in pro day times. It’s also clear on tape that Witherspoon has game speed, so his track speed isn’t an issue for me. He wins with savvy, anticipation and aggression. I love that. Remember, Joe Haden ran an official 4.57 40 at his combine and had a really good career as a corner.

This would make me a very happy fan. However, I’d be sweating it out from picks 33-48 hoping that a top corner like Smith doesn’t get snagged.

so, in OTHER WORDS - no, don't draft him. There will not be some RUN on CB's in the first round. there are 8-10 good ones, from most counts. it is deep.

    WAIT
