They fired him which was my point. They knew they couldn’t keep him anymore and broke a long standing policy to do it.

It was either fire Canada or bench Kenny. From what I’ve read, that’s what it came down to.

    LMAO. They benched Kenny.

It’s amazing the lengths fans will go now to pretend Canada wasn’t horrible.

Geez, where are you getting that? If you’ve read anything I’ve posted on here you know that I think Canada was terrible. That’s just intellectually dishonest. What I was referring to is that there were reports that Tomlin was close to benching Kenny after the Cleveland game. Wouldn’t surprise me if Tomlin wanted to try to retain his pal, Matt, by giving it a shot with Mitch before he had to make the decision to fire him.

Jack, there are a lot of people who don’t think Picketts problems were do to Canada much at all. Not being dishonest, thats a fact.

Your implication was that I didn’t think Canada was horrible. He was absolutely horrible, probably the worst Steelers (and maybe NFL) OC in my lifetime.

But you don’t think he had very much to do with Picketts poor play? I mean why such a lack of faith in Pickett when he was saddled with a horrible OC.

This is why I feel he will play much better with Smith running things.

That and plus Hoge loves him, thinks he is the cats meow and will break all of Big Bens records.

I agree, but I think He will get every single chance they can give Him to start, but I think his leash will be way shorter than last year. For all our sakes ....let hope He shines.

Standardized tests are prepared for and given to people all the time. We are then told that they don't reflect accurately on society as a whole for a variety of factors. We are told that people of different backgrounds shouldn't be judged on their scores from standardized tests.

Why is the Wonderlic a be-all/end-all for quarterback aptitude?

The Wonderlic may be useless, but at this point it seems to have pegged Kenny’s inability to process, diagnose and solve quickly.

I hope it was primarily Canada and that Kenny looks like a different QB under Smith. One thing we agree on, Kenny will be QB1 heading into the season so as Steeler fans we’d better hope that was the case. Tomlin should be charged with coaching malpractice to allow Matt Canada to be the guy to break his shiny new quarterback toy into the league. Why he ever thought it was a good idea to have Canada teach him how to become a successful NFL quarterback is behind me. Tomlin has totally mismanaged Rudolph’s career and he’s on the verge of mismanaging Pickett’s career, especially if they bring in Fields.

And that should be good enough for the NFL
