The wizard of Boz

How is this guy still on the roster? I know we just paid him but who cares. My friend shot me a text earlier that said he's dead last in the nfl this year at 65%.

 

Ownership apparently cares. I mean there will be cap penalties if they cut him but so be it. If they don't do something, then it's apparent what really matters.

 

He should be cut. Kickers are a dime a dozen, no reason to stick with one who can't do the job

 

He's definitely been pretty terrible but at the same time kickers are gonna miss kicks. He is clearly struggling right now but if your gonna consistently depend on kickers to win you games you're gonna win some and lose some. He was a huge part of our success last year. He made tons of huge clutch kicks. How about we address the issues that are leading up to needing your kicker to make every kick just to beat crap teams that have no business being in a close game with us....a little hint it starts with coaching.

 

Unfortunately we are stuck with Boswell. He just signed a monster deal for a Steelers kicker. I'm not sure what the cap ramifications would be for releasing this early into the deal.

 

Boswell has been struggling mightily thus far this season. Missing so many kicks is quite odd given how consistent he was in the past. While this has been his worst season I still have hope for him.


That being said, the Rooney's should not worry too much about Boswell. I believe there is a bigger issue that needs corrected; one that has been going on for far too long.

 

Cap is not an issue with what they saved on Bell. Kickers should be allowed to be put on IR for mental fatigue.

 

That's what players do!!! Ball one year get a nice contract and stink it up the next year then some!!!

 

Boswell has missed 5 FGs, and 5 XPs, this after signing a 20 million deal last offseason .

 

Yeah he should be cut.... but 7m in dead cap space.... and 4 more years??? Egg on Colbert’s face.

 

It just goes to the fact that there is zero accountability on this team. The GM, the coaches, and the players are allowed to keep making the same mistakes with no real consequences.

 

Wholey smokes that's a lot for a kicker.

 

After making the Pro Bowl last season with those game winning kicks, Boswell has now cost the team 2-3 wins. The first Browns game he missed a FG to win, the Chargers game he missed a XP which led the Chargers to go for 2 twice and make it, then in the Raiders game he missed two FGs.

 

Last I checked, we had a ton of space coming thanks to that one RB we used to have. What's his name... rapper. Fat. Ah well, not important.

Yea I’m holding tryouts tomorrow for kickers after this game especially with the playoffs now in jeopardy. This is a huge problem and it needs to try and be rectified now not next season.

 

Hell have coaching tryouts tomorrow while you're at it.

 

Colbert should be shown the door for that.

 

I asked weeks ago that competition must be brought in for both Boz
and Berry. Nothing was done that I know of. This team needs a fresh approach
in all of parts of how they do business going forward.

 

Yea Boswell is 10 of 16 on FG’s and has missed 5 extra points which is simply not good enough. I don’t know who is out there they can bring in to look at now that can be better then Boswell but at this point you gotta do something. You have a chance to still make the playoffs, win your division and host a playoff game you can’t have Boswell kicking in these last 3 games with as bad as he has been this season.

 

Did anyone think he would struggle like this? I didn't. They will ride this out to the end of the season and best bring in some competition next season.

Wait until they give the way overrated a 9 mill 5th year extension.

 

I can see the offense being justified in going for two after touchdowns.
