How does Tomlin or Wilson not know to call timeout with 40 seconds left when Russ scrambled to the 45-46 yard line there to make it 2 and 6. You’re better off calling the timeout there and saving the 15-20 seconds. Instead Tomlin stands there like a moron with snots coming out of his nose and has no urgency to call timeout or anything and then Wilson gets sack the next play and loses 10 yards and there is only 20 seconds left at that point. They only needed about 15 yards to get into legit Boswell range. It was 2nd and 6 with 40 seconds left. So you had plenty of time to use the middle of the field to get the yardage and get in Boswell range. Stuff like this alone is reason enough to fire Tomlin. That decision to not use the timeout there pretty much costs them any legit chance to win the game. Watching Tomlin and his complete ineptitude of clock management is down right sickening.

Nothing surprises me anymore with how dumb this team plays. I’m not even sure they care. A few players do but many of them just want to get paid and that’s about it.

I mean does Rooney meet with Tomlin after these games and point these things out. I mean these aren’t things a genius needs to see to figure out. I mean it’s just stupidity and laziness at its finest.

I was yelling throw it away, the time is more valuable than 3-4 yards...then have to hurry up and it causes a sack

Not to mention throwing to the middle of the field with time running out. Grade school football players know better than that.

Not a football smart team from players to coaches and hasn’t been for years. Always some bonehead thing happening.

Just as good of a question...... Why did Wilson lower his head and charge downfield into multiple defenders when he was nowhere near a first down, or field goal range? He should have went for the sideline to stop the clock.

That's what i been saying, like in the KC game our DB's signal it weren't a catch. They saw KC rushing to scrimmage hurry up a play.
NO one on our D couldn't think on faking an injury so replay can look before KC snap the ball.

Tomlin's never been able to work out how time works.

My dog seems to get it though, he knows when it's walkies.

I'll say one thing for the Brady led Pats. A lot of their guys had football smarts. Steelers have a lot of guys who don't.

All they needed to do was use the last timeout there with 40 seconds left at your own 45-46 yard line near midfield. You regroup and huddle and still have time to use the middle of the field on 2nd and 6 and get up and spike the ball if you get another first down. Instead Tomlin stands there with a clueless look on his face wondering what the **** do I do next.

after the catch to Muth - I though they should have called timeout. And first play of drive was I think a dump off to Najee that got nothing and kept the clock going.

at 9 minutes or so we had the ball - down by 2 scores and weren't even in a hurry to get the plays off.

They were far better coached, that's why they kept beating us.

Or maybe Wilson being a veteran QB should know better than to run and get tackled in bounds, throw the freaking ball away.

It points to lack of coaching and practicing the fundamentals that these guys think are below them as if they know everything. That brain fart by Russ and not throwing it away illustrates the point. GP not watching the ball into his hands illustrates the point. Austin holding the ball a foot from his body before contact illustrates the point. CBs giving 5 yd cushion to WRs on 3rd and 3 illustrates the point. Najee dancing around and not hitting the hole illustrates the point. Moore not moving his feet and trying to rely on long arms against a quick and strong DE illustrates the point. Some people like to complain about execution and say it isn't MT's fault, its the players making mistakes. But Tomlin won't hold anyone accountable for these amateur mistakes that happen way more than they should. I just don't see the fundamentals and discipline with Tomlin coached squads because it just doesn't seem important to him. But it's the basics that are killing this team.

Watched it back, there's no way Big Ben doesn't lead us to a win on that final drive - that's the difference, Wilson is washed.

Ben would have won that game on the final drive 9 times out of 10. He would rally the team to victory. There is none of that with this squad. It’s a shame watching Heyward play out of his mind and others give half an effort.

Hero ball. He thought he could score. Same **** that got him ousted from Seattle and Denver. Seattle put up with it for a while because 10 years ago he might have pulled it off. It's what his former teammates always complain about. He doesn't play within the offense or play for his teammates.

That last throw was not going to make it out of bounds.
    Time would have run out.
