But the play doesn't depend on him. Whether he is a WR or not the play will be a decided by whose in under center on whether he keeps it, hands off to a WR on a reverse, hands it off and then that player throws it. In other words he has no control over anything other than running his route. For a guy that wants to be the hero, the go to guy, the one to lead that game winning drive, to be the leader on the field. It is a hard thing to not be that guy and just to line up at WR. Every QB in the league wants to be that guy and if some one says running the wildcat and not being under center doesn't bother him, I call BS and he is lying to himself.

You think this guy-

wants to be lining up at WR for one play? or three plays? No he wants to be under center. They want to be in control, and by that I mean not because they are egotistical and have to have everything about them but because when they are under center at QB they control where the ball goes, they control the snap, the audible, the hot route, they are in command. Placing that into the hands of someone else is hard to do. Look Ben is a hell of a competitor otherwise he wouldn't be in there when he is hurt and barely mobile, he wouldn't take the abuse play in and play out. That level of commitment to just competing means you aren't happy not being under center.

I didn`t hear Ben say he didn`t wanna be exposed to geting hit by a d back...
I did read it...
I`m with Mac... I`ve seen Ben throw some key blocks, when it was needed, or make a tackle(gasp), or sacrifice his body to get a first down(or touchdown, that SeaSqwuaks fans will STILL cry about)...
Point bein... I don`t think he is scared to get hit.
Period.
Stubborn, and wants to be in charge of the play?
Yeah, probably.
So what?
He does what he has to do to help us win.
Get off his back, Y`all... :lolol:
GO STEELERS!!!
p.s., wouldn`t it be hilarious, if we actually threw to him, outta the wildcat? You know, no one on the defense is gonna pay more than token attention to him...
Say we did it from the 15 yard line, inside the redzone...
Post-up to Big Ben... And .... He makes the catch in the corner of the endzone!!!
All of Steeler Nation would be hollerin their collective asses off, about what an amazing play that was!!!
(It`s not like he doesn`t have the size to do it... ;) )
Or get it to him at the 5, and let him bull his way in.
He knows you just have to bareley break the plane....
I would esp. love to see this against the Cravens...
HaHaHa.,..
I`m just sayin... Defenses aren`t even gonna think of him as a serious potential reciever... Which would make it "easy pickens" if we had the balls to try it... I would love it!
And laff my ass off for days at whoever we did it against...
Come to thiink of it... Let`s save that play for the Clowns.... I would have a field day, at work, the next day!:roflmao:
GO STEELERS!!
