I've been quiet all week because I knew it would end with a cut to black and no resolution. I was hoping beyond hope that it was a false spoiler, but I knew.

I don't even know if I can get my thoughts out without breaking every single forum rule...

Seriously, if ever there was a time for profanity, it's now. But I'll try my best to censor myself.

Scott M. Gimple, that pencil necked little dweeb, is so full of himself. He should be not so tenderly made love to with Lucille, and then have his head bashed in by her. Fire this hack, NOW! 3 episodes of Glenn under a dumpster and now this?!?! And they try to justify it as being some great piece of story telling that will pay off. @#$! off! It's NOT a proper cliffhanger. Those are where you place a character in peril and leave his/her fate in doubt. There's ZERO doubt here!!! Someone died. Horribly. To not reveal who is a total dick move. Had Negan ended on "Moe" and then they faded to black? Ok, fair play. Nice cliffhanger. Not this. I know it's a subtle difference, but it's there.

And in the day and age of social media, fan stalking, instant spoilers, etc., how the hell do they expect to keep the victim secret for long anyway?!?! They start filming in July. People will KNOW who didn't show up to work.

And stop with all of the "Who shot J.R?" comparisons. It's not even apples and oranges. It's apples and hand grenades! (I forget where that line came from. Anyone?)

And you just KNOW how this will go next season:

Episodes 1 and 2 will be back story for Negan. Episode 3 will be a Carol and Morgan at the Kingdom episode. (The Kingdom is another community. They're known for wearing armor and riding horses... among other things. Oops. Spoiler alert). Episode 4 will be all about Enid trapped in a closet. Episode 5 will be Father Gabriel and Alexandria's intrigue (or lack thereof). Finally, around episode 6 or 7, they'll reveal who died.

I half suspect they kept it up in the air because certain actors' contracts are up for negotiation, so they haven't decided yet. Still a garbage stunt.

Negan was great. It's a shame they couldn't put him in his full glory. (Seriously? "Pegged?" "Pee pee pants???") But he's great either way. I just wonder if I'll care enough to bother watching more of him. I'm tired of TWD's cheap tricks.

I hope every time Gimple gets, ummmm, intimate in the future, right before he "arrives," he gets kicked in the nuts.

(Yes. I know who the victim is in the comics. It SHOULD be who it is in the show too. But that doesn't change my opinion)

In short, here's my thoughts on tonight:

Yeah should have know they would do that to us. I am gonna be pissed if they kill off Abraham, I feel after watching the talking dead that it has to be one of the main group. Not sure they could kill off a major character but I feel like it is one of the originals. So here is my thoughts on each:

Eugene - feel like it could be him with the long good bye he had with Rick and how his character has evolved.
Abraham - Negan may want to set an example and he did puff up towards him, will be very upset with him.
Michonne - let's face it you bang Rick you die.........hope i'm wrong
Sasha & Rositta - I could see one of these to use for a big story line involving Abraham
Maggie - Cause she looks sick I could see Negan putting her down to "help" the group earn for him
Glenn - Has his luck run out? could really set up some story lines with him gone
Carl - no way he kills a kid and he needs to find out how he got the gun
Daryl - people said he kills a guy in the comics and Daryl wasn't in the comics, don't mean they will follow that. He does have his own show coming out..........
Rick - I don't think he kills the leader of the group that he wants to work for him, but then again if you cut the head off the monster.......... I can't see them doing it but if I were Negan I would pick Rick
Aaron - sorry but this is the one that I am hoping for here, I have nothing for him since he is one of the newest members to this group.........

On talking dead they point out how this dead affects everyone, so I feel it is a major character I will throw my Monday morning name out there and early predict .........GLENN!

Oh one more thing Ray D I agree 100% with ya.......

From Negan's comment about cutting out Carl's eye I think it's safe to assume Carl and Rick lived. Also from what I've read negan is a womanizer so that probably rules out rosita,Maggie and Natasha. So that leaves us with Aaron, Abraham, Daryl, Glenn, and Eugene as possible victims. I lean towards Aaron because of the conversation asking why he was coming along. It gave me the feeling he was twd's version of a red shirt on Star Trek

You know, it hadnt really bothered me that much how they ended it until reading your rant :lolol:

    That was a dick move.

You're clearly underestimating Negan if you don't think he would kill a kid. But, I don't think its him either. I think you can rule out Glenn, Carl, Michone, Rick and Maggie because no way any of them is killed while their lover/father/son sit by quietly. Don't care about Negans warning, wouldnt happen.

Yep, I got that sense too.

I think it was Eugene ONLY because the camera hardly panned over to him during the eeny meenie minie moe... Writers trying to be clever.

But I agree, this was a cheap way to end the season. Again, writers trying to be clever. But it really is a 2nd grade stunt.

"This is Lucille. And she. is. awesome." Haha! That was so great!

I think it's Abraham who Negan kills, and I'm okay with that, but don't really care at this point who it was because of the way the cliffhanger was handled. I have too much stuff going on in the summer to continue to care about this show until October, so I kind of have a "meh, whatever" attitude right now because there's just far too much time until October to give a damn.

I think the cliffhanger would have been far more effective if they would have shown us some identifying feature which would let us know who Negan killed and then the scene faded to black at that point. So, good goin', TWD powers-that-be... I officially don't care at this point.

I'm mad at Morgan for saving the hag. :lolol:

I'm not sure how I feel about this episode. Honestly, the cliffhanger was the least of my complaints. I had a real hard time swallowing the massive roadblocks and all-knowing omnipotence of the Saviors. That, joined by the 2:1 commercial ratio and Carol/Morgan segments left me wondering what else was on a couple times.

They should be punished. Saying it was excessive would be putting it mildly. Whorish would be putting it mildly. And they wonder why people torrent. :cautious:

    :lolol: This was great, Ray.

I read a couple comments earlier in the week where I thought the posters were just speculating. I thought, "yup, that's probably how it will go down...". I didn't realize that was a spoiler.

Yeah, I'm not sure how they'd go about it. Every other word in the comics starts with F. The pee pee pants is straight out of the comics, though.

Not getting spoilery here, but that whole scene minus the words they can't use on AMC is pretty much line for line out of the comics for anyone wondering.

Negan's honestly one of my favorite characters. I like him better than Rick in the comics (TV Rick is way more likable than comics Rick imo). I'm not sure what that says about me...

Like Chris Hardwick said on Talking Dead- he's charismatic.

I don't think I can give my thoughts on who got the kiss from Lucille without getting into spoilers.

I think it was Glenn. I think they ended it the way they did, because they knew so many fans knew what was coming. Leaving it on that kind of cliffhanger was their way of making a cliffhanger out of something that normally wouldn't be cliffhanger worthy. Mainly I mean that it's hard to go anywhere on the internet without reading a comic spoiler about this, so perhaps their intent was 'hey- maybe we didn't follow the comics. Maybe the Glenn dumpster "death" was our way of paying homage to the comics and he'll live happily ever after. After all, we haven't strictly followed the comics throughout'. Just a thought.

I understand what you're saying about he who shall not be named possibly being the victim. I'm just not totally onboard with the idea.

I loved Negan's introduction and monologue. That was up there with my favorite scenes of the entire show

With all of his other colorful language, I'd honestly forgot about that. :lolol:

There's already a fan movement to SPOIL who died as soon as it's learned in every site, comment section, social media, etc. This was not fair play and people are ticked off.

As someone else said, they had their own Red Wedding moment, and completely screwed it up.

Yikes. Apparently the complete audio from that scene has been leaked, including a minute or so after the cliffhanger. I don't normally partake in spoilers, but I couldn't resist when my wife forwarded this to me. I wouldn't post a link here, but if someone really wanted it, I wouldn't tell them no in a pm.

I run away from spoilers like the black plague, so unless its posted in here, I won't find out who it is until the season starts.

The Saviors have an army, not sure how they will beat that, I think Rick and company are going to be serving under them for a while until they can figure it out. Maybe it is as simple as cutting the head off of the snake or maybe a massive zombie heard. I'm guessing the armored guys who meet up with Morgan will tie into it somehow.

And while I am leaning towards Aaron as the one who met Lucile, I'm fearful its Daryl. Which, I think would be a big mistake but, shows have killed off very popular characters before and survived, so who knows.

With daryl being shot I dont think he would have had the strength to stand up after that first hit. I'm thinking that it was Abraham. I suck at prognostications though so...

The tired old, pile all the central characters in a vehicle and have them all leave at the same time is old. At what point do they not realize that they know exactly where they are and are being watched?

Let's get out of the van and walk it they said.....

When are these people going to talk and spread information they've picked up. Carol and Maggie know that they are fighting a fully coordinated force and Rick and Co. just go barreling off in one vehicle to get to Hilltop?

The rest of those fools go running off after one guy for revenge?

With the power and infrastructure they have there, they could have set-up sensors or cameras to monitor the perimeter...

I`m not sure where to even start...

    Mostly dissapointed...

I felt like this could have been much more tension-filled, than it was,
As has been said, over-commercializing it played a part in that, and splitting the story, between Rick`s group, and Carol and Morgan`s, story played another part...

Honestley, I`m kinda disappointed in Negan...
That`s partially my own fault for reading here, and buying into the build up of his character...
If I had met him with no pre-concieved notions, he may have been more menacing, but, as it was,
I was expecting even more of a monster...

The only "twist" that threw me were the "knights of the Kingdom"...

Wasn`t sure who they were, but, I`m glad another group has been introduced..

I`m thinking I need to watch the show, without the benefit of the internet, to get it`s full effect...

At the same time, I`m gonna have a hard time, missing the insights I wouldn`t get without that benefit...

    Tough call..

At least I have a few months to ponder it... LOL...

As far as who got introduced to "Lucille"???...

I guess it depends on Negan`s intentions...

And I don`t know him, so I wouldn`t be totally opposed to his "backstory", the 1st couple episodes
    next season.

While it would drive me nuts, not to know who he killed...!!

What I am having a hard time understanding, is why he just wouldn`t kill them all???

Do we know he only wants to take ONE of them out, with the hope of the rest working for him?

Unless he is a complete idiot(and that wouldn`t seem to be the case, given his leadership of all these people),

He should recognize that this is a tight-knit group(family), and killing only ONE of them, will make the rest of them want to seek vengance, and kill him!!!

Even if they have to "play along", to get to that point, he could never truly trust them!!!

Leadership by intimidation, doesn`t inspire loyalty...

And given the group that is currentley on their knees before "Lucille", I can`t pick one which the rest wouldn`t seek revenge for...

SO, what??? Take Rick out, and show that, "I am Negan, I am your leader now, Bow before me"?...

Rick`s group doesn`t bow before anyone...Much less the man that took out their leader...

Leave Rick alive, and he will seek retribution for killing a "family member" no matter who it is!!!

It just feels like the writers have painted themselves into a corner, that I don`t see a way out of...

Other than, Rick`s group survives as members of Negan`s group, untill they can get their revenge...

That feels hollow... I don`t get the feeling that Negan is that naiive...

They`ve already been rescued by Carol once, I don`t wanna see that again..

Maybe they don`t know about these "knights" of the kingdom?
And they rescue Whoever is left of Rick`s group?

Still feels hollow... Negan`s group seems to have intel on everything around them(again, I wanna see how he formed that group)...

I dunno, if I was Negan, "Lucille" would swing on ALL of their heads...

If I had to pick ONE, it would be Rick.

In real life, Daryl (or at least the actor who plays him), has other projects coming up, so I would take that into consideration, given that only one is supposed to get whacked..

The writers are unlikeley to kill Rick, Carl, Michonne, Glenn, Maggie, Abraham, or any of the "original" group...

I`m guessing the writers are gonna lose their balls, and kill off either Daryl(as popular as he is),
or one of the "secondary" members of the group, like Sasha, or Eugene, or Rosita(Was she in the line-up?)

Hope not, I liked it better when main characters were vulnerable, even tho I miss Hershel!!!!

On a side note, Who`s left to protect Alexandria, after they all left to cure Maggie?

Father whatshisname, and who else were left behind?

And how did Negan`s group know to set up the roadblocks, when Rick, and all, went rushing her to the doc in Hilltop???:hmm:

    TWD:rawk:

That leaked a week ago. I call it the audio Rorschach Test. People hear what they want to hear.

If people think (or want) it to be Daryl, they hear a clue or 3 that makes them think so. Ditto for the other characters.

    BUT...

It can only be one of the following 4: Eugene, Abraham, Daryl or Glenn.

Negan clearly says "He's taking it like a champ," after the first hit. So it's not a woman. Negan likes his "wives," so he's not going to waste a perfectly good candidate on setting an example.

After he picks, and they start to protest, he says "If anyone moves, take the kid's other eye and feed it to his father." So not Rick or Carl. But he ALSO kind of points/gestures at Rick and Carl. Carl far to his right, and Rick slightly to his right.

There's only 4 people to the left. The 4 I named.

Gimple and Kirkman both said the character is one "beloved by the whole group." Abraham gets under some people's skin. Eugene definitely does. That only leaves Daryl or Glenn.

Again, it's an audio Rorschach Test, but
I'm pretty sure I hear Maggie screaming...
    ;)

Really Bleed? Who were you expecting to step out of that trailer, Jason Vorhese? :lolol:

I don't know, being held captive and helpless while watching someone you love get their head bashed in would seem like a pretty menacing situation to find yourself in.

Of course they are going to want to seek revenge, but they aren't going to be in a position to do so, for the time being anyway. Knowing that any attempt to do so will likely get more people killed, probably somebody you love. Negans group is too big, I honestly don't know how they will get out of this. Maybe unite all 3 groups, Alexandria, Hilltop and this new group all mount a coordinated attack, maybe they would have enough manpower then.

As for killing Rick, leaving someone like him alive is much more punishment then killing him. And that's what Negan wants, wants to punish Rick for killing members of his group. Negan thinks he is too strong for Rick to ever do anything about it. Arrogance can be a fatal flaw, look where it got Rick and his group, they were so smug that theyd just go kill the Saviors, that worked out real well for them.

I don't think Id classify killing off a character as popular as Daryl as having no balls.

You left off Aaron? Any thoughts on why it may or may not be him?

I was a little miffed that the "cliffhanger" didn't reveal who died. I think the only death in the entire episode, unless I'm forgetting something, was the savior who was stalking Carol, and that was fairly anti-climactic, especially since he's had such a small part.

I'm guessing that TTF is right and that it was
Glenn. It just seems like this is a pretty major event in the comics and even though the timing is different, it would be too much to stray from that outcome. This is a way to keep the comic fans in suspense without changing it.
