You do realize that when he retires he will be in the top 10 all time in every meaningful passing stat don't you?

Zzzzzzzzzzzz.... We've all pissed and moaned off and on about Ben's tendencies to do this or that, etc...

Fact is, the kids a good damn QB! You can't take any QB in the league and put them behind the parse lines, aged running backs, midget receivers, HC/ coordinator changes and have them do what he's done consistently, and that is get beat on only to go forth and gut out some pretty nice wins. He don't get the love affair the league has with others and he damn sure don't get the benefit of the doubt much with flags. He owns some pretty slick highlight reels and a couple of pieces of hardware that yeah... Tells me he's pretty damn good. Oh and our old used to could Defenses you say bailed him out? They wouldn't have gotten their rings if it weren't for him.

Ben is a Franchise QB. He hasn't been "elite" but definitely top 5-6 the past few years. This year is his best and it's due to his maturing, taking what the defense gives him, finally getting on board to what Haley been trying to due. The Oline keeping him upright and having Bell is Key. Thank YOU Munchak.

Now as far as rings and things his 1st was due to the Best Defense in town. Ben played the worse game any QB has ever played in a SB that year. In his 2nd title without James historic play on the pick 6 there would be no ring. His 3rd appearance in the SB was a losing one in which the game ended when he missed an open Wallace for a 1st down.

I'm glad he's here, we have several more chances at #7 before he retires so let's ride that train. We'll go as far as he takes us. If we can get a top 7 defense over the next few years we might even get 8 RINGS!!!

Actually that distinction belongs to Kerry Collins.

First of all, if you are being fair, I don't know how you are still clinging to "ben holds onto the ball too long". He gets rid of the ball very quickly now, TTF posted the numbers once, around 2 seconds. Haley has changed that part of his game as well as checking down, does that a lot more now too.

Secondly, the few times he does hold onto the ball now, I bet no one complains when Ben evades the rush to throw TD's.

Oh wow! Craig Morton! Thank you for reminding me about that game. I was 10 years old and a big orange crush fan. I was so disappointed in that game and how bad the Broncos played against the Cowboys. The next year the Steelers beat the Cowboys in the Superbowl and I have been a Steelers fan ever since!

I don't think it's zzzzzzzz when Ben gets injured for holding onto the ball for too long, and it cost the team the season because of it. Haley was brought in for a reason, and thats to protect Ben from Ben. Now that Ben is getting on board with Haley I think this has been the healthiest Ben has been able to stay. I'm not the only one talking about it, the proof is in the pudding. ( not Bill Cosby's pudding, you could wake up with your pants down)

Ben was the worst for any WINNING QB in Super Bowl history. His QBR was 22.6. UGLY!

And the article calls Terry Bradshaw the GREATEST 4th quarter QB in Super Bowl history and that being the primary reason he's in the HOF. I couldn't agree more and I think that's why The Blonde Bomber remains the greatest quarterback in Steeler history over Big Ben. Bradshaw was CLUTCH in the 4th quarter of those games when every pass mattered! It helped having Swanny and Stalls snatching those passes too. :)

Yeah, I should have said "winning QB" in my statement. It's what I meant and assumed it to be understood as a response to without Ben there would have not been a SB victory.

There wouldn't have been because they wouldn't have even been in the SB if not for him.

Absolutely correct! He stunk it up in the Super Bowl but was on fire throughout the playoffs. In fact, he's the single biggest reason they went to the Super Bowl that year which makes it all the more ironic that they won the Super Bowl in spite of, and not because of, him.
