I really believe that just one or two plays here or there from DHB scoring a TD instead of getting tackled on that long pass to Miller dropping that 3rd and 12 over the middle after that. To Wheaton letting the ball go off his finger tips, to Boykin and Allen miscommunicating on Manning's 3rd and 12 play. I really feel the Steelers were the better team yesterday and outplayed the Broncos from top to bottom. If one of those plays I mentioned above gets made along with a few others and Toussant doesn't fumble the Steelers probably win. It's so frustrating because when you look back today and take a closer look at things the Steelers should have won yesterday plain and simple.

Special teams and coaching were the difference.

Honestly - the only real difference *yesterday* was the fumble. Up to that point, we were headed for a win. It wasn't pretty, it wasn't going to be a blowout, and it was going to go down to the last second to secure it - but it was there. It was just the type of game where one mistake was going to make the difference between a win or loss, and sadly we made it.

Yes, all those other things would have helped - but given where we were in the 4th quarter, the fumble was it.

Denver has a similar, maybe longer, list of what ifs. Steelers had 2 good drives late and came up with nothing...that was the difference.

You mention DHB on that potential TD catch, I was shocked how easily he was caught from the side/back when he was making a beeline for the goal line - those wheels looked really old - I think Heath could have caught him.

Yea if he had just caught it and tried to run straight down the sideline instead of cutting back toward the middle of the field he might have had a better chance of scoring a TD. That was very very frustrating to watch him get caught so easily and not have a better chance of scoring a TD there.

Could have been, but seems like when our receivers took the sideline route after a catch this year, they tended to run OB rather than get the extra 10+ yards cutting back in. On a different note - was anyone else surprised how "immense" Coates appears relative to the defenders. He almost looked like a tight end or linebacker running down the field. Since he only had one catch this year not much to base anything on, but my how the Steelers WR profile has changed from the days of Holmes, Wallace, Sanders and AB.

ST's and field position killed us.

Denver had many dropped balls...more than us.

our closest td was toussant at the goal line...that ended with what a penalty going back 15 yards if I remember. went from the 1/2 yard line on first down to a field goal

Yeah, if the Steelers had just cleaned up a handful of mistakes and not committed the only turnover in a really close road game at altitude ...

(Not attacking you, that's just how your post struck me when I first read it.)
