No one we want to draft. Career backup at best and I say that as a ND fan.

And they have no QB under contract for 2025, it doesn't seem like Fields is getting a starting job this season anyway, if he came to the Steelers he would play some in 2024.

We will sign Tanehill and draft a rookie.

Justin Field doesn't make sense now. If he isn't going to be your starter this year, then it makes no sense.

Milton sucks, he's just a big guy with a big arm, and not much accuracy.

Yeah, let's have our top two QBs be over the age of 35 .

If Fields is so good… why are da Bears trying to get rid of him? An unproven head case in Caleb? It just makes no sense to me, of course a lot doesn’t make sense to me anymore, guess that comes with old age

I would rather have Tannehill who is 35 over Fields who is 25. Fields career record is 11-29, no thanks.

To get one in the draft. It gives us 5 years.

The Steelers offer should be a mid round pick in 2024, and a couple later round picks in 2025.

If he is cut and comes as a FA that would be ok

But don’t give anything up for him

I doubt the Bears will cut him, some team will eventually offer them something, although it might be lesser picks than what the Bears wanted.

Wilson is 35 and due to be a free agent after the season. He is a one-year rental at this point.

You don't sign him for upside. You sign him to have a quality backup behind Wilson. If you are going to go all-in on a quarterback that old, you should at least have a decent insurance policy behind him in case he has to miss some time.

I can't remember ever seeing 2 35+ year old QBs on the same team at the start of a season. Not sure why you would want 2 old timers butting heads on how the offense should run. Part of the advantage of having a veteran like Wilson as your starting QB, is so he can teach the younger QBs in the room.

Now that Cry Baby Kenny has left the building they need to bring in some youth, so Russ can teach them how to Cook. Fields is only 25, so I think he could learn a lot sitting behind Russ.

Although, I just heard that Russ plans to play for another 5 to 7 years, and he wants his future to be in Pittsburgh. As I keep asking people, why does everyone assume Russ is going to be gone in 2025?

Couldn't they reach an agreement before a trade on an extension that would eliminate the option year?

    What I wouldn't mind seeing....

Trade for Fields after agreeing to a 3 year extension. You have him for four years.
Play Wilson this year and see how it goes. If they make a playoff run, you approach RW about a two year extension. You have him for 1-3 years
Bring in Tannehill as QB 3 as a solidifying force who knows Smith's offense.

This gives you a legitimate long term plan with some options and a variety of solid QBs
