Surprisingly SR6 beat you by 26 minutes. You're slipping 80's Disco. Granted - yours is funnier with the pronunciation cheat sheet and here I am bumping you up. :smiley1:

Ben wasn't named the starter at the beginning of the season as a rookie either, he was like 3rd or 4th on the depth chart, he got the starting job because of injuries.

Which was foolish in hindsight. Would they have been 15-1 with Tommy Maddox at QB? No at best they would have been 9-7 or 8-8.

I’m not worried about depth charts. If they bring in Rudolph over Pickett then I‘ll ***** and moan but right not this doesn’t mean much.

Latrobe airport is about an hour east and sometimes has really cheap flights plus it’s easy in and out

But it’s limited on where the flights go

Correct, Maddox was injured at the end of the 3rd during the second game playing the Ravens, Batch had a knee injury. Ben came in and threw for 2 TD's but we still lost the game.

I still remember Faneca's response and the media uproar that followed. There was a doom and gloom mentality, although there was excitement about Roethlisberger and his potential, not many believed he was ready, how many rookie QB's are and no team wants to lose their starting QB at the start of the season.

When Ben started that Miami game and threw a pick with his first pass, there wasn't much hope, the defense pretty much won that game and then Ben threw for a TD. The rest of that season is history, who would have imagined us going 15-1 and Ben playing the way he did. Not to take anything away from Ben but that offense was stacked and fit for any QB to play. Great memories!

The depth chart is no surprise and exactly as it should be, just as it made sense in 04. A veteran QB who knows the system and playbook should be 2nd. It makes no sense to throw your rookie QB to the wolves unless you have no choice, especially with this Oline. If this Oline doesn't gel and pick it up, we may see Pickett by default.

    Most positions went as expected.....
Obi wanjobi and wormley are practically the same player, so I wasn't sure what would happen there.....
Cb was also a surprise with Sutton winning over Wallace... Thought for sure Wallace would get the start with Sutton as the slot in nickle formation (might still be the slot as he's the best option)

I like that Warren is #2. This kid hits the ground running fast and is solid out of the backfield.

Kendrick Green as the #2 left guard is a huge mistake. He can't handle NFL caliber defensive lineman.

Trubisky is the #1. No surprise.

Hope we see a Highsmith sighting. Glad they claimed Jones and got Reed.

    GO Steelers!

Mitch, Rudolph, Pickett. That’s such a Steelers move. That’s so anytime Mitch screws up people don’t start screaming for Pickett because “Rudolph is next in line”

I’ve said it before but I think they got a disaster brewing here. Pickett doesn’t want to be Q2 or Q3. But Steelers want to do it like they did it in the 70/80s and ease him in. Tomlin will screw his development up. I got no doubt about it.

I think that is eventually what we will see at cornerback.

I disagree regarding the defensive end depth chart. Ogunjobi is an upgrade over Wormley.

Will this be the 1st time in Pickett's life he was not allowed to dress for a game?

Besides from being injured? I’d imagine so. I’m sure Tomlin will throw some cliches at him about how it will build character.

Pickett is twice the QB as Mason.
    Win a playoff game Tomlin.

So…you work your butt off, get incrementally better week after week, go out there in the pre-season games and perform, arguably, better than the other two quarterbacks on the roster including impressive drives against no. 1 defenses and you still get penalized because you’re a rookie. Why characterize it as an open quarterback competition when it was anything but. Tomlin could have gone ahead and set the depth chart a month ago without all of the lip service. Maybe I’m overreacting and there’s a method to the madness. We’ll see, I guess.

There isn't, Tomlin is not smart. He gets out coached all the time.

Well, if Trubisky gets injured Mason will be the next man up, I'm assuming Pickett as the 3rd QB will be inactive on gameday.

I think Wormley is best suited as a backup, they should have a good rotation on the DL with Adams, Loudermilk, Leal, and Wormley coming off the bench.

I wanted to see Pickett play right away but after seeing the o line, I pray he doesn't see the field until they get something substantially better than what they have. It’s like having five clones of Myron Cope out there. And Myron weighed 160 lb. Plus, he is dead.
Now that they have released the depth chart, I hope they release half that offensive line.

He’s not 3rd string. You really believe that?

How are they going to develop him, he needs to be #2 to get the work in.
