If it makes anybody feel any better... the Rams (better-ran franchise than Steelers) are getting ripped hard for the Simpson pick, who does not help the Rams in 2026. Good Morning Football, Cowherd and ESPN shows... all torching the Rams.

Simpson was arguably the 2nd best QB in the draft, and Stafford isn't getting any younger, so I'm not sure why everyone is ripping the Rams? At least they're trying to get a QB lined up for them before Stafford is washed up. At least that's having more foresight than the Steelers did in regards to replacing Ben.

Gotta love the message board “experts” who know better than the pros. I’m not sure why Art even pays to have Omar, Weidl, and the entire personnel staff. He just needs to find the loudest fans on the message boards and social media and do what they say. Super Bowls every year are bound to follow!

The arguments I'm hearing are... Rams could have got a plug-and-play 1st round defender on the DL, LB or DB to put them over the top for a Super Bowl berth. They are only 1 or 2 players away from being the best NFC team.

I can understand that argument, but obviously the Rams see Simpson as Stafford's successor. Being that QB is by far the most important position, it was wise of the Rams to plan for the future. The Rams didn't want to end up staying too long with Stafford like the Steelers did with Big Ben, and I can't say I blame them. Could the Rams have waited until next year to draft a QB in round 1? Maybe.

I just hope that we see real competition for spots rather than what appears to have been the way it was in the past where it was an 'open competition' but really, it was already set in stone.

    Too true.

I wasn't around these parts then, but I was around other Steelers internet sites, and I remember most being pumped when Brod Jones came off the board. Now, everyone wants to claim that they called him being a bust. I don't believe it.
