They went 10-7 last season with bad QB play, and a bunch of injuries on defense .

Anybody who thought that is clueless, Washington was mostly a blocking TE in college.

Two restricted free agents that might help steelers.
    1) Alaric Jackson LT- JUST FINISHED THE SEASON WITH ONE SACK GIVEN UP IN 500 SNAPS
Do not know if he gets 1st or Second round tender
2)Mike Hoecht OLB- 6-4 310lbs, Had six sacks
Could he help in run game with his size. Had 84 tackles
    play some de in 3-4
    Give watts some plays off
First of first refusal tag most likely
    what do you think?

he had many good catches and runs when used so the potential was there. that team just didn't use that much of it. they also had another good TE too. it still doesn't mean he wasn't good at it. palmy face guy. he averaged 17.2 yards per catch. :smiley1::cool:

First, the Browns also had 5 different QBs and many other injuries last year like as RB(their best player on offense) in the second game of the year and others

And the other thing, these stats don't lie...

It was the first team ever to have a winning record after 8 games even though they were outplayed and outgained every game in their 8 games....Only in the last 3 games and the first game against the Bengals that the Steelers had the look of a good team (like a 10-7 team)...They played against a lot of backup QB too, including 4 in their AFC north matchup(3 on the road)

Well, if those numbers are correct then I guess Tomlin should've won COTY . The Browns also got to play Arizona with a scrub rookie QB, the Steelers had to face Kyler Murray.

Not for keeping Canada for so long and be outplayed for most of the time in the first 14 games

The Eagles released Kevin Byard the former All Pro safety for the Titans. The Eagles traded 2 draft picks plus Edmunds for Byard last year but released him after only 10 games in Philadelphia.

They may look, but I do not think the team is in a place to get in a bidding war with anyone. The article said the Rams are still trying to re-sign him and likely will give it their best go if they want him. The Steelers might sign a C or any other needed position, but still think it will be mid-level guy in most positions and they still try and build long term in the draft. More holes than you are getting in one draft, so if a guy they like in FA is available at the right price then sure anything may happen/

Interesting how this works out for the Chiefs. IDK exactly how many FA they have, but in the past when a team has that kind of success trying to keep more than the core is very hard. One thing Reid and co. has been very good at is filling and developing, and of course having Mahomes helps a little. lol

L'Jarius Sneed will be on the franchise tag by the chiefs but they could trade him after that....

Maybe they want to pay Chris Jones and not Sneed, I would be surprised if the Steelers got him.

Right now it's either smoke screen or stupid guessing for most everyone. Until or if they get a guy to ink a contract I wont get to excited, lol.

Steelers have a bit of an issue at TE. Muth can't block therefore he needs to come off the field on running plays which really hurts the Steelers ability to run RPO's and PA. Washington is a poor route runner which is key in the NFL but is an excellent blocker. Neither TE is can do both well.

Fittipaldo in his chat shot down any notion that Washington will being a receiving TE. Said he was brought in to block.

What I've read is that they are going to sign Jones to an extension and put the franchise tag on Sneed.
