Players released so far: The Combine starts next week, and then free agency a few weeks after that. And the salary cap will be 255 million.
    Mason Cole
    Pressley Harvin

The Chiefs signed punter Matt Araiza, if they cut their current punter Tommy Townsend the Steelers should try to sign him in free agency.

Townsend is not currently under contract with the Chiefs, so he will be available in free agency.

Araiza was cleared of any wrong doing, left before the whole thing took place from what I read.

Would have liked the Steelers to have picked him up.

I keep seeing stuff like this from Steelers fans wanting Sneed or Jaylon Johnson, I just don't see it happening they see Porter Jr as their #1 CB, and young free agents like those will get that big guaranteed money which the Steelers don't do those type of deals.

Even if they are high on Porter Jr,the steelers can have another number 1 corner caliber if they want

Another #1 caliber CB would cost 18-20 million a year, they have too many holes to fill to spend that much money on one guy, I think they will sign a lesser player in free agency and draft one.

I don't disagree with that...They need at least 2 other competant CBs around Porter jr

I also think they're counting on Trice or Darius Rush contributing next season.

Right. In the mad rush to draft OL and CB, we already have Spencer Anderson and Trice. And we signed Dylan Cook OL depth. Trice is a dark horse starter. He has an injury history but he also has had a year to heal.

Its interesting Trice cant get past the doubters. The steelers are guns blazing with Kenny Pickett as the starter, ignoring the fact that he hasn't been able to play a full season with out getting injured. It seems every 4-5 games he is sidelined.

As for Trice, after a full year of rehab and considering his is still in his early 20s, I think, with the proper preparation and conditioning, it is reasonable to count on Trice as a contributor next year.

this is why you can't count on him as a long term starter. yes it will be a good guy to have but you better have a solid backup plan to go with it.

You can't count on Trice....If he become good, great but you can't count on him because of his injury history....

Some guys seem to be made of steel and never have injury issues. Others seem to be genetically pre-dispositioned to injury. Trice seems like the latter.

If you been watching the Steelers for any length of time. You have a very clear understanding of how the Steelers operate. Which means free agency is going to be like watching paint dry.

The last two years they have been more active in free agency, even signing guys in the first few days, instead of just signing bargain basement players.

When healthy Trice is a 7th round draft pick. Anything you can get out of a 7th round pick is icing on the cake, but please don't pencil in a 7th round pick as a starter before he has ever taken a snap in the NFL.
