They have too many needs and not enough draft picks, maybe acquire another pick in the 2nd or 3rd round. They haven't done enough in free agency to fill their needs, they could stand to double dip at CB, and WR.

It wouldn’t be a bad idea. If they could pick up an extra third I wouldn’t mind it at all but it depends on how the board falls of course.

I couldn’t disagree more. This is a top heavy draft making it a terrible year to trade down

i am not sure I agree.

Get the best T at #1, get the best C at #2. the cat from WVU should be there at #2. there are a number of C's project to be Pro ready. We ought to get be able to get to 2 solid starters with 1 and 2 this year. We are in a desperate spot - like our LB situation when we drafted Timmons and Woodley.

we are desperate - but I think it will break our way without giving away picks or moving.

I'd want the BPA at C or T with our #1.

I think it will be T.

we still have decent cap room. They will find another CB / S or 2 - draft and FA.

    all will be fine.

WR will come in Rd. 3 or 4.

Frazier is unlikely to make it to pick No. 51, the Steelers' pick in the second round.

If they want to focus on center first, trading back to later in the first round or even early in the second might make some sense. It just depends on the return.

LOL, I thought it was a deep draft.
People crack me up, one person says its top heavy and others say it deep.
    No one really knows.

I was thinking that they may trade back depending how the board falls, unless they really want someone. My thinking is if JPJ and Mims and a top corner is there at 20, they could trade back a few, get a 3rd or 4th, draft who is available, then use that extra pick they recieved paired with our 2nd round and trade back up into the top of the 2nd and get another top prospect.

Deep at OT and WR, the rest not so much. Some depth at CB, but that position is a ***** to get right

We need to consider trading back.
We need to consider staying put.
We need to consider trading up.
We need to consider trading our #1 pick for an established star.

Do you think our head office isn't considering everything in the next two weeks?

I think it’s going to be hard to watch picks 33 - 50 on Day 2. We may see a LOT of potential Day 1 contributors at positions of need go off the board then.

Obviously I wouldn’t trade down until I know who is available at #20, but I can definitely envision a scenario where we can improve the team more by trading down in the 1st and then using that capital to trade up in the second, than by just using picks 20 and 51.

I feel like 20 is a very good spot this draft.
We know 3-4 QBs will be coming off the board ahead of us.
LTs Alt and Fashanu are expected to get drafted before we pick.
That’s possibly 6 spots we weren’t really looking at so top14 on prospects we are looking at.
Usually 2-3 Edge guys get drafted before we pick. Top11-12 now.
We are not expecting Harrison Jr to be there, now top10 pick most likely.

I think we can get our guy at 20.

    bhahhahahaha

no - this board thinks Khan and Co. are stupid!! LOL

but it is a message board, mostly therapeutic and cathartic.

we will be fine - but we are taking some risks with that OLINE, that is for sure. We will be dependent on young players again. this is what happens with POOR drafting and LEADERSHIP / COACHING and NEGLECT for too long, on the OLINE.

of course we can, but we need much more than 'our guy'

i think that was the point of the original post

    We
Already have an extra 3rd from the Kenny Pickett trade.

I think they may need to trade up to get in front of Cincinnati if they want a RT.

My crazy wild card prediction is they trade their 2025 1st round draft pick to move up and get JPJ and their starting RT in the 1st round this year.

The Steelers need another very good receiver big time, otherwise the opposing defenses will put 2-3 players on Pickens in each passing down and the other Steelers receivers will be unable to make the opposing defenses pay the price for that if the Steelers don't add another receiver quality and it will be ugly in so many levels

For what it's worth (not much perhaps), Cowherd said today as he has talked to draft "specialists", the most recent talk is the talent on the OL could push a rush and some WR's could fall. WHo knows, it's all speculation, but there are times when some start to panic and pull the trigger. We have enough needs I would just bide my time and see who is falling and grab the guy on MY board.

Not trying to disregard the OP. And I’m not necessarily against trading back in the 1st and adding another pick.

According to the trade value chart, if we trade back 1 spot with Miami, we pick up another 4th.

I also wonder if trading a draft slot for an established player isn’t more valuable for this season.

You would probably have to give up a lot of draft capital for an established player. A bird in hand…

They need a #2 WR, you really want to wait until the 3rd or 4th round to draft one?

They have no picks in the 5th or 7th round, trade down from #20 and then take JPJ.

I want to beef up the O-line, but my gut says we pick a WR first.

they do not need 2 WR's in the draft. i think we take jpj at 20 or maybe frazier. draft a WR in the 2nd and a slot corner and D-lineman in the 3rd and a RT in the 4th. goncalves from pitt or fisher from ND.
