Watching Matt Canada's offense run game package is driving me crazy. First....the team needs a fullback to lead block. Especially when the front o line is rotten at best. Second.....move the darn running back up closer to the line. The line has to block for too long. Whatever happened to the counter play we ran a million times in my life. Te only run play that works once in a blue moon is draw. Not a successful way to win games with a qb running for his life and average less than 2.4 yards a carry.

They don't even used the high priced FB that they have now, and you want to get another one? I guess the new guy and Derek Watt can be bookends.

As its been said over and over and over and over again!!! This is not Matt Canadas offense. This is a butchered at best version of his offense that is catered to Ben and what he wants to do. His offense may be terrible who knows! We haven't seen it. But what we are seeing is not his offense as per his own words and also how the steelers have operated for the last decade plus with OC's and Ben. They do what Ben wants or he throws passive aggressive temper tantrums.

Well, they drafted like it was 1994, maybe they need to run a 1994 offense.

What is FB Derek Watt getting paid $3.3MM a year for? To be ST captain?

His brother? Just act like it's going to TJ and we get a FB/ST player as a bonus.

What's the point of having a FB on the roster if he doesn't block?

Does he ever get the chance? We run from shotgun 90% of the time. Najee has to run 7-8 yards to get a 1 yard gain.

We signed the best FB on the market a few years back. Then we kept him on the sideline in a display case like a Faberge egg

Exactly, you can't use a FB in the shotgun.

But you can use a FB in the Pistol formation.

The thing ultimately is, colleges aren't using FBs anymore. It's practically a dinosaur position. The best bet is to groom a smaller, but great blocking, TE into a FB. I think this is one area where the NFL greatly needs a DLeague. It won't happen. But just saying.

I don't think a FB is going to help us if the rest of our line sux.

Also Derek Watt hasn't showed anything since he has been here, we should cut him.

I believe We ran with a FB 2 times in the game last week ..
    For a loss of Yards.
Same people want 2 keep running this and that...needless whether it gains any yards or Not then complain about the D being on the field 2 Much, complain about running Shotgun in the 2nd Half after were down. Yet it's the only way We've mostly been able 2 move the Ball.
By all means run it every play behind the FB for no Yards , and Punt....I bet that wouldn't bother Ben right now with How He getting Hit, but that's not What happens.....They run Lose Yards, try some other play lose yard....than 3- long....Ok Ben Do something......because Here they come.

Situationally speaking 3 or whatever down and short you utilize a FB and your jumbo package... historically s well as present they do not seek to move the chains “situationally” they yuck the heave up and exit stage right.

I believe the RB starting further back was something Lev Bell did so ge could see how the blocking was developing and pick a hole.

Problem is, at the moment the right and middle of the line get no holes whatsoever, so nothing to see.

I remain puzzled at what Derek Watt does.

When you have an OLine that is getting pushed back to yards into your own backfield I don't think aFB would make a difference, just muddle up more. It is a shame Najee has to run behind this bad of an OL.He has stardom written all over him.

In the preseason they ran Watt in front of Najee and it worked. In fact, that’s the only time he found and took advantage of holes. Try it?
