The team was 7-4 with a negative point differential at -23. I believe they were the only team in the league over .500 with a negative point differential at that point and right now there is only one team above .500, the Bengals at -4, with a negative point differential. So even before all the injuries they were overachieving.

It's no way to be successful over 17 games. You're either going to find your level or you're going to have to improve your play. Unfortunately, for the Steelers it's been the former.

Minkah hasn't been right since the early part of the season, both starting ILBs who wore the green dot are out for the season, and both of them were expected to be their coverage ILBs. Walker and Roberts aren't good in coverage.

Yeah, that's a big reason why the collapse isn't surprising...I mean, at one point they were 4-2 despite being bottom 5 in yards in offense and defense..They were just lucky like crazy and I had mentioned that often in the first 2-3 months of the season

I don't think they would've lost these last three games with a healthy Pickett, he might not put up a lot of points, but he avoids the turnovers unlike Trubisky.

It was against 2 2-10 team at home...No excuse for that...The Browns and Bengals have backup QB and they are ahead of us in the standing

When your QB turns the ball over and doesn't put up enough points, the team isn't good enough to overcome that.

what about to make the QB in a good position to be successful?...Trubisky is not good but still make the playoffs twice with Chicago as starter...Flacco has not been good since 2014 and the backup QB of the bengals was a no name before the last month

And once again, all teams face injuries. The Colts OL is banged up, their top 2 RB's were out, their #1 WR was out and their starting QB was out. They still put up 30+ points on us, and that doesn't include 2 dropped TD's. They could have put up 40+ on us with numerous backups playing.

Other teams have backups that step up and produce. We use it as an excuse

And we have a guy who was #2 in the draft. Makes no sense.

Trubisky being the #2 pick means nothing, it's obvious the Bears made a mistake in drafting him, they traded up to get Mitch and passed on Mahomes .

    And really what's the point?

This team has so many holes, needs, its a joke.

They need better draft position. 7-10 would help that.

Center, Right Tackle, Corner, Receiver, Inside Linebacker, Back up QB, Safety, Defensive Lineman. Did I forget any?

Khan and Weidl are going to have their hands full.

Hopefully they are drafting for a new Head Coach.

I didn't realize that. That is their Dan Marino moment.

Yes Punter and as usual KR/PR. I swear we have been snake bitten with that role for a long long time. Its like a hold your breath moment every time unless its kicked into the end zone.

Yes after watching an 11-0 team led by Ben collapses and lose to a Baker led Browns in the WC round, anything is possible. What’s gut wrenching about this year was that the lane opened up for us to simply walk in. Teams like the Chiefs and Bills underperformed. QBs for teams left on our schedule dropped like flies. All we had to do was be average

There's a reason why the Vegas win total going into the season was 8.5. We were never considered that good to begin with. 8.5, or 9 wins, isn't getting you into the playoffs. (Not that it matters, even if they make it, they aren't doing a thing.)

Wouldn't shock me if Tomlin quit on Tuesday so he would still finish with no losing record. Clearly his team quit, so assuming they learned that from him.

Yes, but that’s 8-9 wins in a “normal” season. We played 5 backup QBs in a row, including two divisional opponents. What team gets to do that and completely screwed the pooch?

The moment Pickett was hurt vs Cardinals was the end of 2023. Steelers have completely imploded.

Like I said, every teams have injuries but the steelers don't have the next man up mentality right now like a team as the colts
