Not flame, most of this is fine. I only question the last two sentences.
    Why even be like that?

I took a train from Beijing to Moscow getting on and off all along the way. I’d stand at an intersection looking at road signs and had no clue. Only thing I knew how to say in each of the three languages was please, thank you, good morning, good night, beer and bathroom.

I was planning a trip out to Latrobe but was on the wait and see.

Guess we got the answer. Stupid, just stupid.

But that's Goodell and his goons for you.

While I never want to defend Goodell, reports are coming forth that the players union is the one who vetoed going to Latrobe, not the league. According to Kaboly now. Case in point did you see any of the players complain about not going to St. Vincent? Hell no, they don't want to go there and live in dorms.

I am sure the Rooney's and all of Westmoreland CO. are upset with this decision.
The Steelers bring lots of money to this region when their at St Vincent's.

I'm starting to wonder if they will ever return to St. Vincent's after two years gone.

Very sad if that happens, the NFL is hard sport to get up close and personal with NFL teams and players, and from a fan stand point nothing was closer than when practice would end you could get so close to the players, smell the sweat etc. get an autograph if you desired.

But, it's a new Era, a new generation. I'm sure they don't like to be in dorm rooms for 3-4 weeks, heck the old dorms didn't even have air conditioning, I remember being a kid watching NFL guys carry A/C units to their dorm rooms at St. Vincent's

I remember hearing Jim Miller on Sirius talking about how the Pittsburgh experience was actually going backwards vs Michigan State with respect to accommodations, the workout facility, etc

Could be worse. I was reading in SI how cheap the Bengals ownership was when the players still had to pay for coffee in a vending machine.

How are the Rooneys? They do not seem to be the type who like the spot light but do they do a lot for the community?

I read how ex players for the most part have no beef with the organization.

My sarcasm suggests sarcasm. I was making a joke. Reading anything into that other than me saying @DukeDukeDaDaDa@DukeDukeDaDaDa was being reasonable and logical while many of us fly off the handle is a waste of time.

Transparency would be nice, but this is Goodell's show. No one should expect straight answers in a timely fashion.

Other members have already hit the nail on the head, players don’t want this and makes perfect sense.

Sucks for the fans and local businesses but not for the Steelers.

Players got a taste of what a non St. Vincent training camp was like and they loved it. There may be issues even going back next year if ever, who knows.

If it wasn’t for training camp in Latrobe, Casey Hampton would have spent the last two years on the physically to fat to waddle list PTFTW

You’re half right. I doubt the Rooneys care one way or the other.

I think they do, and I know the fine business owners of Latrobe do.

Could it be Religion? Are the Steelers being penalized for going to training camp at a religious college?

Saint Vincent College vs Missouri Western State University.

Both are small instate schools so it is not like either team is travelling out of state.

Why does KC get to have training camp at their small college campus and Pittsburgh does not?

    Look familiar?

They'll struggle to finish above .500 this year, but hey.....at least they'll get what they want. Screw the fans, and screw Latrobe.

Rooney's are probably the most upset. They are a main business connection for Western Pennsylvania.

I considered this as well and my response would be ask the players. I ask this as a serious question, does the church get involved with the team when there in an uncomfortable or overbearing way for the players? And I don't mean it in "that" way.
