I guess if you mean prime in their twenties then you are right however keep in mind Taz is 30 and Harrison is 32.. How old is Ed Reed and Ray Lewis.. I believe they are older and Ray Lewis came into camp in better shape then last year so it can be done if the will is there to compete. The health of this team when you look at the big picture is not about age. Decastro, Spence, Mendy, Woirlds and a bunch of others that have now made it back to the the starting lineup. Young rookie players that are injured immediately. Perhaps we need to look at preparation and if so then it would fall on the coaches .

Our defense shouldn't have to be great for us to win games, but what was saw last Sunday was not even average. THAT is the issue we have right now. If we are average against Denver and Oakland, we are 3-0 right now.

I expected last year to be one where we started to fill holes on the offensive side of the ball. We have very good skill position players. Very few teams have 4 receivers as good as our 4. Throw in the TE Miller and soon Saunders, bringing back Mendenhall along with Rainey and Batch....these team has plenty of impact power on the O side of the ball. Adams will be a good T at some point. DeCastro will be a starter....and a good one. Gilbert and Pouncey are young. Colon isn't old enough to need to quit. Legursky and Foster provide us decent depth. Beachum we aren't sure about yet.

So what happens this draft? It wouldn't surprise me if we didn't take 1 offensive player in the entire draft. We need LBs, both inside and outside. We need Dline depth. We need Safety depth with the ability to eventually start. This year, the draft is huge. I know we say that every year, but this is a year which will reshape this D for a very, very long time. We gotta get this one right.

One last note, because we need so much on that side of the ball, this is also the year to make a long-term commitment to the 3-4 or to change to the 4-3. One way or another, the best way to win IMO is to get into the backfield either against the run or the pass. Penetration makes all the difference in the world.

the draft will have to be focused on defense..but I really think we need to add 1 more tackle maybe in round 3...

We really need some very talented pass rushers, people that can get to the QB.
Even the great QB's will make mistakes if he is worried about getting hit.
