Could cost us a comp pick, unfortunately. OTC is currently only listing 25 of the mandatory 32 (26/33 if you want to count Detroit's for Glenn), so Elandon Roberts might still qualify at 3.01 million.

If KFP had stuck around, he would almost certainly be the starter this year. As it is, his choices are setting him up to be a career backup......

Have to say I don't have much faith in any of this working out. To many ifs and maybes. I get what your saying but I don't look for anything special to come from Rudolph other than holding a clipboard. The QB situation at this point is hopeless. I hope you are right but I have no faith it will be

I think his ability has more to do with it than his choices

it might be a shiny new year after all. Rudolph could save the Steelers.

For me it would. I'd grab Kupp if it can be worked out. Save the cap, move on from the old timers, and draft a QB this year, and even move up next year for a QB.

Time to rebuild the QB room. It HAS to start at some point. We aren't getting any farther with Wilson, or Rodgers. Can't get a franchise QB if you don't take swings at drafting them! We are just dragging this out. Kahn and the Steelers messed up not gauging the FA market this year underbidding CB's, DT's, and Fields. Nothing can be done about that now. I would have rolled the dice on Fields for what he signed for, but not the others now. Heck there is much to like about the later round QB's

Fields, Rudolph and new drafted guy would have been acceptable.

If Tomlin has to rebuild? Apparently you haven’t been paying attention for the last few years.

But Rudolph hates Tomlin and the Steelers because of the way he was treated

If the Steelers were willing to consider him as a starter for this season and beyond, they never would have traded him for so little return. They have done some dumb things the last couple of seasons, but they aren't that dumb.

Signing Rodgers would do nothing to keep them from drafting a quarterback, either.

I guess this means the Steelers will be drafting Dart in the first round ;)

When you have 2 deep ball threats at WR you get yourself a tall QB that climbs the pocket and can throw a beautiful deep pass, not a moonball.

I love the move, now draft Dart, Howard, or McCord and groom them over time.

I don't think the quality of this roster is deteriorating rapidly at all, after the draft this team will be young and talented at most positions.

I mean with Rudolph on the roster they wouldn't have to rush Dart to be the starter. It wouldn't be my first choice I prefer DL at #21, but I would be okay with Dart.

That was a rebuild? Sorry that looked more like a half assed reload.

I am glad they signed Mason. Even if they sign Rogers or Wilson, he will get playing time due to their age and injuries.

Why? Do you think he got better after sitting on a different team's bench?

I don't think the Mason signing is awful.
He knows the team pretty much, the coach more so but the offense will be new to him.
It should fit him aside from the dash plays.

He's a guy you want on the bench though.
I'm ok now that has boiled down to Rogers or Wilson (who probably does not want to come back)
Either can get us through this season, especially with Mason in the fold.
If neither signs.. hey, maybe a 2-15 season lights a fire, especially with a really good pick.

I'm wondering what the stronger GM's would be doing.
I've been watching Lynch in SF as they are reshaping that roster
and the Bills GM (name skips me right now) as they've retooled a couple times without missing a step.
and KC just seems to find players and move on from other players..
The Philly GM has moved a few players, it'll be interesting to see how that goes.
Washington has done fantastic job... but they did have a high pick to start with.

I'll say it now, the Steelers will trade down into the early 2nd round to pick up an extra pick in the 3rd or 4th. With the 2nd round pick they will go with BPA DL. With the extra 3rd or 4th round they grab the best RB.
