Not so fast; he kinda has some validity. Look....Ozzie does what he's suppose to do. With that said, they are going to take an Offensive lineman with their first or second pick. And how can we bad mouth Weddle when we offered him a contract too? We got swept by that team last year. Swept. And out coached; Badly.

So we can't just "poo poo" the thoughts of of the Ravens because truthfully, they've beaten us 3 in a row now. So how can you just dismiss them so easily?

Ozzie is a top 5 GM in this league. They can have a decent enough draft. Right now, Harbaugh is in Tomlin's head. Badly. I"m not going to be as arrogant as some of you. Especially about a team who's kicked our ass now three in a a row. And that's including the playoffs.

I heard the same "Ravens are crapping all over us" last year too. It didn't seem to work out for them.

It did when they faced us. They are the reason we didn't win the division..and them alone. We were swept by them. We've lost three in a row to them.

They were decimated by injuries and they lost to just about everyone else...accept us!

Harbaugh has put a skirt on Tomlin and has Tomlin on the street corner making him some money.

Your assessment is correct but it had nothing to do with their off-season moves. Apples and Oranges my friend.

Crapping all over us? They're ravens, that's what they do. Especially after you've just washed your car!
    Oh........the football team? No.

People on here are seriously under rating the Wallace pick up for them. Idc what his deficiencies are, that offense lacked a deep threat last year and he's just that. Flacco really isn't that great of a QB, but he can throw the deep ball a hell of a lot better than the last two QB's Wallace has had. I wouldn't be shocked at all to see Wallace have a good year this year (maybe even a 900-1000 yard year). He will connect on a few deep ones, and I hope it isn't against us.

Weddle is a good pick up for them too, I just didn't understand why they did it. He's old and they really aren't that close to being a playoff team, let alone a championship caliber team. I would've thought they'd try to throw that money at someone that would be a more long term solution and piece of their rebuild.

The off-season without Real Steel would make the MB a much quieter place...

Agree. Being out coached on game day and in game week prep (which I think Tomlin was - woefully), and being beaten in talent acquisition during the offseason are two different things. The Ravens' record last year is testament that. Yeah, our coaching staff got worked over by theirs, but we had the roster that made it to the divisional round of the playoffs even though we were also decimated by injuries.

Wallace is a bum . He will not block. He takes to many plays off. He only runs his route when he is the primary target . He makes no effort unless the ball is thrown perfectly . I still remember the ball in the endzone that went about a foot over the cross bar and Wallace just looked at it . I have seen at least 100 catches by NFL guys higher than that 1 was since then..I also remember a ball that sailed about 2 feet over his head and he had his eyes on it the whole time and refused to even reach his arms up to catch it ..

I was all about getting rid of Wallace and have no desire to ever watch him play again..

My assessment on why the Ravens have beaten us as of late is because John Hairball only cares about beating us. He focuses so much of his attention on us it's silly. They will brag how they swept us with their awesome 5-11 record. Steelers have bigger goals in mind.

I dont think price was the factor, I just dont think we was willing to give him a 4 year deal and thats what he wanted, a 1 or 2 year deal was probably all we was willing to go for him and the way he left the chargers was a red flag as well that left doubt on whether he could be a team guy or not....

Agreed! I was not one who was interested in either but I really preferred they went elsewhere.

The Steelers didn't offer Weddle a contract, the Ravens swept them but Vick was the starting QB in the first game.

I hope they sweep us every year, if it puts the Steelers in the playoffs and the Ravens only win 5 games each season.

The Ravens? Nah but we need to learn how to beat em again. Last year was a joke on our parts. The team that's reloading to crap on us is the Patsies once again. Decent offseason moves on their part as usual

Yup. Like taking that Weddle money and throwing it at Osemele instead. No biggie, now Tuitt and Heyward can brutalize their other guard not named Yanda.

Losing Osemele is a massive blow.

The Ravens & Bengals are not going away, Steelers have to be a step ahead in all
facets of the organization. Coaching, scouting, player evaluation etc. Their guys get paid too.

The Browns are not going away either. Thank god! Seriously though, I expect that the Ravens will be competitive again. I don't see them winning double digit games, but I think they'll be a lot better than they were last season.

If you actually thing the Ravens are not going to address their guard issues, then your fooling yourself. The Ravens will address that. Now HELL NO I didn't want Wallace back. We don't need any prima donna, one trick ponies anymore! But we wanted Weddle too and didn't get him. So I'm not going to pretend like it wasn't a good acquistion player wise. Now money wise, they over spent on a 31 year old safety. But they probably are going to take a late safety in the draft and groom him behind Weddle so Weddle could be functioning on really just a one year deal. Weather he knows it or not. hehehe

And as you guys know, I'm hard on Colbert but Colbert is doing "okay" this off-season by getting Green and Harris. Definitely on the right path in trying to address needs. But he doesn't like to use first round picks on cornerbacks. Now you could make an argument that their have been none worthy when we selected..and I get that. But this year, there will be definitely one, and possibly two cornerbacks that are worthy and that is possibly Apple and Jackson.

My personal preference is Jackson from what I saw in the last two games the Cougars played.

The Ravens were decimated by injuries all around last year. They will be better this year. We need to be better too. But better in our weakest area; the secondary. No disrespect to our D-line needs.

They can address the guard spot all they want but they won't be able to replace a guy like Osemele. That's a massive loss and no rookie or 3rd-tier FA can make up for that absence. If they get lucky in the draft they may find some guy like Yanda, who after time becomes good. But there will be no immediate help. Advantage: Cam Heyward.

The guy on that team that scares me is their rookie from last year, Perriman. We don't have anyone that can match up against him, assuming he can run correct routes and catch the ball. Physically I think he'll abuse our DB's.

Seeing a lot of claims the Steelers really wanted Weddle... has there been a statement from the team to that effect? I know his agent said something, but he mentioned a lot of teams who didn't make an offer. Just wondering.
