I don't understand that type of thinking by fans. I love to evaluate players and enjoy the draft. I have disagreed with many draft picks by the Steelers front office and thought they made a mistake at the time, but from the moment they announce their names and they become a Steeler I embrace them and pull for them to succeed with all my heart and soul. I want so badly to be wrong and for the team to be right. After all, it's all about the team doing well. It has nothing to do with me or my pride. I have been totally against the team drafting players like Jarvis Jones and openly said so, yet after they draft him I am telling people that loved him before the draft to calm down and be patient to let him develop and give him a chance.

It's a shame, but I see people like that everywhere as well.

 

Let’s try to win a playoff game before we think this team is Super Bowl bound. Most pre season power rankings have the Steelers around 18.

 

It's exponentially worse on the internet. People are anonymous and get really angry when they're wrong and act in way that they wouldn't in person.

 

Just 2 years ago,the bengals were in the super bowl,31 years after their last playoff win....Who care about the power rankings,the 2004 steelers were 26th on espn before that season,the steelers finish 15-1

 

I haven't seen one person on here say they are Super Bowl bound.

Yea I agree power rankings are not the end all be all but football writers are not nearly as high on the Steelers as this board. Granted we are Steelers fans so I guess that is natural to be more optimistic.

 

I think nearly everyone on this board is just about as optimistic as you would expect with a second year QB and a lot of new faces. Make the playoffs. Win at least one playoff game. Would you agree or is that overly optimistic?

 

AFC is pretty loaded as is our division. Most pundits have the Steelers 4th in the North. Although I have been reading Deshaun has not been sharp so I could certainly see us being better than Cleveland if that’s the case. A playoff win would be nice but I guess it depends on who we draw if we make it as a 6/7 seed. If we are at KC or something I wouldn’t expect us to win obviously.

Yeah, K.C. would be a tough draw for sure. I fully expect them to make the playoffs. Lot of things to shake out to determine who they would play.

I’ve heard it’s because we wasted a pick because we could have had Malik Willis in the third round.

 

When did Ben win his first Super Bowl? in his second year? They were 6-10 the year prior to him taking over (they had a lot of key players in place when Ben arrived like we do now and did last year). I can see this team in the playoffs this year and being serious contenders for the next two.

yeah, KP should be the next franchise QB, in the line of Bradshaw and Ben, not saying he'll be as good but he should be no. 3 at least, maybe i'm wrong but i think i may be right.

Same here. If Kenny plays 15 years that puts me well into my eighties. My life span of Steelers QB's will have run from Jim Finks to Kenny Pickett.
