Aside from giving up the pass plays the tackling and run stopping has got to step it up. Im not used to seeing the Steelers give up tons of yards on the ground and not wrap up tackles. I dont know who that Ravens RB was but he had a field day.

yup fix the run D and tackling and our defense will be good enough. But that has been a problem all season even WITH shazier and haden. good luck lol

I know tackling is bad league wide, but I cant imagine there is as bad team tackling as our team.

And the blame for poor tackling is the direct fault of Butler, he is too easy going for these knuckle heads and their poor tackling is the result...

Yup and NE is licking their chops! Wrapping up tackles is their #1 achilles not to mention the secondary coverages.

Shazier had his share of missed tackles as well. it's been a problem all season with this unit. they are not disciplined and lack the fundamentals we have seen with previous Steelers defenses over the past 15 years.

    There is.

Like you say, it’s bad league wide. Any number of fan bases will be saying the same thing right now.

Everybody just wants to lay the big hit, what ever happened to using your legs to drive and arms to wrap up?

Oh lord... I've turned into my HS football coach.

I think we just found out how much we need Shazier`s speed to get to the fast RB`s. I hope the Cheats do not have a runner as fast as Collins.

we need to get haden back and hopefully some of these guys get better over the weeks. we need our offense to be the best in the nfl. get the ball and control t.o.p.

I just can't believe that at the NFL level how many of these players just try and lay a shoulder into the ball carriers. It's horrible that they even take that approach. I almost turned off the game yesterday after I saw Davis just bump into the ball carrier when he had a perfect bead to wrap up the ball carrier and get him out of bounds. It happens in every game all season long. Do they not stress fundamentals anymore?

It's the Sportcenter Effect. This is a whole generation of players that grew up watching the highlight reels and plays of the week. Those were always the big blowup hits from each game.

Add in the fact that the new CBA limits teams to like 12 padded practices per year and you get this ugly tackling epidemic.

How can Sean Spence be the starter over LJ Fort when, Fort has been on the team and Spence sitting at home only watching football ?
