We gotta stop with the penalties, jesus i was getting so pissed off with all the holding calls with Colon and also on ST plays. The personal fouls from hard hits dont bother me as much as the holding and other offfensive penalties. \

ANyway i think when Mundy laid that hit on whoever it was, that player stayed there for a bit making the refs think he is hurt because right after that flag he popped right up.

29 for 296 yards over the last three games. That is really bad.

And Colon seems to be anti-clutch in those situations too. Remember 2 weeks ago, the steelers were ready to to make a 4th quarter comeback against Oakland when Colon had his usual holding call that stalled the drive out. I remembered why I didn't like Colon before. He's always been like this with holding and false starts. Then the dude has the nerve to act surprised when it does happen.

I've noticed something... Starks doesn't seem to hold the rusher like most other LTs in the league. Many rushers coming from Harrison's position are held in a similar manner. Really, any of the edge rushers get mauled by the LT or RT in a similar manner to Harrison. It seems the Steelers LT and RT don't do it (at least not as often in the plays where I can view them).

I think the perception that the Steelers O-Line is horrible is causing them to draw flags that other O-Lines don't draw for the same infractions. I see other O-Lines hold defensive players, constantly, with no flags... frustrating...

Unfortunately, it would appear the Steelers O-Line will have to play a near-perfect game because the refs are calling everything on them.

I think a lot of Colon's issues come from technique right now. At RT, you move your feet and get square then use your hands to engage. At LG, he is going to have to get his hands up quicker first then worry about getting his feet square. The penalties in all honesty are not a surprise to me.

I dont love the penalties on Colon but I do think its technique, and hopefully, he will get better. The illegal procedure on Wallace, the false start on AB- those are frustrating! :frustrated:

Against that pass rush no less. Opened up some nice holes for Mendy too. Can't get on the line about yesterdays game. Whether they keep playing that way or not is yet to be seen but have to give credit where credit is due. Nice job by the line yesterday :applaud:

Do you mean the refs think that our o-line sucks, so they decide beforehand that they can't possible be blocking without cheating?

I was annoyed as the next guy about the penalites yesterday, but I think that's stretching it a bit....

I'm saying there seems to be a discrepancy in the calls. Some of the calls the O-Line received were warranted, but then they should throw flags for the other O-Lines. We all know holding is happening with every line. Just call it even is all I'm saying.

I think you are right, the zebra percieve that the Steeler OL is horrible. But they only percieve this because it's true. Colon's holds as i remember them were obvious and glaring. I have no beef w/ any of the calls.

I don't take issue with the flags because I believe the Steelers O-Line is committing fouls. I do take issue with the same fouls being committed by opposing O-Lines with no flags thrown. And I am wondering if there is a bias because the perception is that the Steelers O-Line is so terrible they must be committing fouls to block defenders. When, in truth, other O-Lines are just as terrible, but since they don't have the perception of being a terrible O-Line, then the refs aren't paying attention to the fouls they commit. Refs seem to swallow a lot of whistles when Steelers defenders get held. I'm getting tired of Colon getting flagged when the opposing LT is allowed to put Harrison in a f*cking sleeper hold.

I also saw about 5 PI's that should have been called on Philly. Why is it, noone ever gets called for holding Harrison and seems like the other team's d'backs can mug our receivers and no flag? I saw two grab our receivers and turn them yesterday. No calls

    Spot on, sir.

There is obviously the rule that it is ok to hold James Harrison on every play, BUT aside from this it is simply wrong to say that other teams are not getting called. Sit down and watch a Texans game with a Texans fan, or a Giants game with a Giants fans, etc. etc. They will point out to you al the times they are called more than the other team.

Look up the "1951 Princeton vs Dartmouth Football War" psychology experiment. It pretty much makes the same point, but with the added power of social science.

if you consider that good enough to win the SB. i highly doubt it. i'd say the RB fixed alot of it.

We've won the SB with a spotty line before so yes, if they play like yesterday they can. And while it's obvious how much better Mendy is then Dwyer and Red, the line did open some holes you and I could have run through and kept Ben off the turf. They did a good job yesterday.
