Yeah he should have been cut at halftime and forced to hitchhike home. The nerve of him not to look like Jim Brown in his first pre season game.

I feel Bishop benefitted from a bit of smoke and mirrors. He had a 2 pick game and the hype train started rolling and fans latched on hard. After that he saw time sporadically but fans still wanted him in there using some real reaches on numbers to justify calling for him to get more playing time. He eventually did but whether he hit a rookie wall or bought into his own hype he ended the season getting picked on, alot. All of that would be fine if he carried himself like Warren be quiet and humble, go about your business. Bishop has already complained about access to health and rehab facilities the Steelers provide saying he had better at college. Then just like everyone else in the world he thought a podcast was a great move so he is on his show running his mouth like he is AB at the end or at best Mike Mitchell. He flashed last night but he also crashed and let's not sugarcoat it that wasn't exactly the class of the NFL he was playing against. If he makes the cut I hope he shuts up and plays, plenty of room for growth if he dedicates himself.

He can always be a guest on Footballin with Ben lol. Or join AR on the Pat's show.

    1) he pulled both grapes out
    2) he just killed the king
    3) he hid a white grape in his hand
    4) he accused the king of the same thing and made him pull a grape
Otherwise bestow the wisdom upon me

I dont think Beanie Bishop gets cut, we need him for depth, what about Jamison, I thought he had a good game,

He quickly ate one and didn't let anyone see it, so that the remaining one would be dark meaning he ate the light one and was innocent.

If the remaining one were light, he would be presumed guilty as he ate the dark one.

He shouldn’t have to be coached on basic fundamentals that every high school player should know. If you listen or read training camp notes of various bloggers etc, multiple of them have said that he has not impressed. No one expects him to look like Jim Brown, but he should look better than undrafted free agents He averaged 2.5 yards a carry and dropped an easy pass. My opinion is that so far he is looking like a bust. That doesn’t mean he will be one or not. Hopefully he will get it together.

That may be a correct analysis but looking at the defensive scheme the Jags ran it looked like the same formula teams played against the Steelers last year and the year before. No fear of the passing attack and everything tight around the LOS. Run plays weren't disguised and they had time to read the play and clog it up.

He is a rookie. He also did a good job picking up a block on the touchdown right before the half. He showed some toughness and power as a runner. The rest will come in time.

Exactly. He had no chance on many plays, but still showed some quickness and power.

the mentioned that the jags were playing 8 men in the box and that smith just adjusted and threw the ball. which is what many teams did against us. if we start throwing they will eventually back out of it and we can run it again. rodgers will be able to adjust to that.

I guess I figured out why you don't like him.... I think the INT numbers from last year aren't generally sustainable, but teams threw on him because he is a smaller slot CB and he was an undrafted free agent. So, that is a natural place to throw at. I am not trying to say he was a stud or anything, but he did fine out there. He definitely showed that he at least belonged out there, which is more than most UDFA's can say at the corner position. He flashes quite a lot of good for a guy that some people want cut from the roster, and does so at a position where teams always need more solid players. He still has some learning to do, but being in a role where he is a back up behind a former All-Pro is a good place to do it, and is a good spot to be in if Ramsey ever misses any time. Bishop is generally decent in coverage and tackles the catch immediately. He can find himself out of position from time to time, but overall I am quite happy with him. He is a pretty good young player and would make all 32 rosters in this league right now. No doubt about it. Echols, Trice, and Pierre can battle for two spots and Bishop can be the back up slot. Our CB room is in quite good shape.

I am glad to see a solid performance in pre-season game 1, but I recall the offense lighting it up under Canada in pre-season, only to deliver absolute duds in the regular season. So that is a reminder to pay it little attention.

My main concern is Steelers keeping familiar players over upside on the depth chart. Players that don't move the needle. Players that if they HAVE to start, aren't any better than another teams practice-sqaud player they could find during the season.

I don't much want to see Connor Heward, Mark Robinson, Loudermilk or Calvin Anderson make the roster. There are probably a couple more that I can't recall that might make it based on special teams ability and thats fine, but walking yawns (those already listed) shouldn't make the team unless there just isn't anyone else remotely decent and healthy. I have my fingers crossed that bad backups from bad teams the past couple of years are not kept.

For Johnson,I see a stat that he had 20 rushing yards but he had more yards after contact(25 yards)!!!

Sometimes you need to look at the context more that the yards per run attempts!

Don't forget that Hines Ward was a Qb, Rb, and Wrs at one time. If we could get another Hines out of him, I'd be freaking thrilled.

It tell me that the o-line(the backup o-line in this case)did not help Johnson in this game
