That I recall, started out last season under center a lot. Then it slowly faded away.

Yes we must do as others have done! It's a proven formula at least 1 team won a championship by doing it while another lost, a one to one ratio if you will.

 

Woodson was a very good safety and sometimes CB for the Steelers for 6 years. He was All Pro in 1967 picking off 7 passes that season.

 

I had a post a while ago talking about how we have been basically the worst team at PA passes in the league for a pretty long time.

I think this is a big part of it.

My guess (though I don't have the data) is that PA from the shotgun or pistol isn't as effective as it is when you're under center.

Interesting that it's coming from Rodgers. Presumably he's a part of the reason we didn't do this much last year (harder for old guys I think)

 

Seems like a decent PR move to me.

Maybe avoids all the interview questions (to players, coaches, and FO) about why Porter isn't playing and if it's due to contract issues (I'm sure it is).

Question: Who has best legs for scrambling out of trouble based on what they did in College? Allar or Howard. I did not see either play NCAA football. Were either running QB's to a degree?

 

This is called the kiss my backside injury. Usually achieved by bending deeply at the waist extending your dominant hand and gesturing emphatically with a slight wrist movement. I almost lost the tip of my right pointer finger months ago and its a chore to perform this stretch.

 

Mike McCarthy in his interview said there would be "No Live tackling" at camp this year.

And, maybe just news to me, but Jalen Ramsey will be out 2 weeks and miss most of training camp.

 

Howard is the better scrambler of the two, but Allar does have some mobility.

 

Depth at CB is going to be tested early they will get a good look at Daylen Everette.

I kinda hope Ramsey and JPJ miss the entirety of camp. I want to see if Asante Samuel regained his form or not and if he can play the hybrid role Ramsey plays.

Broderick being ready to go is a great thing. I'm not completely out on him yet. I'd test him at RG during camp. Doesn't mean he'll ever start at G, but why not experiment?

I think the non-tackling aspect of camp can be a good thing. It'll help keep the defense fresher and healthier once games actually start.

 

No live tackling but he didn't rule out the occasional scrum....

Will Howard averaged 2.2 yards per rush in the Big Ten at Ohio State.

Drew Allar is at 3.3 yards per rush in the Big Ten at Penn State.Looking at those numbers alone, you’d think Allar is the better runner. But with Ohio State’s clear talent edge at receiver and howspaced-out their offense is, I actually think it’s easier for a QB to run the ball in that system.
