It’s early and you can’t read too much into things with shorts on but the biggest concern right now is B Jones. I guess he is getting abused by Highsmith.

and by Nick Herbig according to Mark Kaboly

Maybe he will be better with the pads and this is what who matter at the end of the day but yes this is a concern...He would need a o-line coach like Munchak!

Im not sure how even the biggest homer/MT supporter can honestly think Pat Myers has done a good job here. Hes borderline Canada incompetence so far.

The steelers had the same problem at this position 12-15 years ago before Munchak become our o-line coach.....The steelers had several high draft pick like Gilbert,Decastro and Pouncey but the o-line was still not good before 2014.When Munchak become the o-line coach in 2014,it become a strength for years to come and they had other very good players like Foster and AV....The o-line did not collapse in 2015 when Pouncey was out for the season even if his backup was below average...Right now the o-line have the same problem that they had before 2014.They need a quality o-line coach

    Coaching matter!

this early report is a problem. physical talent is one thing, but you can't fix stupid, if that is the problem and if he doesn't care, then WE FAILED.

Roman Wilson is taking lots of outside reps
When the Steelers are in 11 personnel (one back and one tight end on the field) their three WRs have been relatively predictable: DK Metcalf, Calvin Austin III and Roman Wilson.

And on the first day, that was the order with Metcalf and Austin on the outside and Wilson in the slot. But the Steelers spent a good portion of the weekend playing Wilson outside and moving Austin inside.

To this point, Robert Woods hasn't been much of a factor at all, and while Wilson is playing a lot outside, Calvin Austin III has been the one making plays from wherever he aligns.

Now we obviously can't draw any firm conclusions from four days of unpadded practice, but it's clear that the Steelers are giving Roman Wilson every opportunity to prove he's the team's #2 WR, even if Calvin Austin III is the one who holds the title.

I think best we could hope for with a 3 WR set would be DK and Roman outside and CA in the slot.

Dan Moore was way better than people tried saying he was, but when one sheep starts bleating, many join in. Now comes someone with PFF, like PFF is correct. This is the same PFF that said that T. Edmunds was a better safety than Minkah, the same PFF that said the Garrett was better than Watt.

PFF while a source can’t be the only thing to base an argument around.

This is a Georgia fan that thinks just because B. Jones came from there, he should be good. I guess I didn't see other linemen get good while Meyers has been here.
Has it ever occurred to anyone that maybe Jones just isn't good. Now he has plenty of time to show either way, but you people have to stop with ,just because you think a college player is good, and they don't pan out its always coaching. We watch high draft picks fail in every team. Someone could make a list every year.

    LoL. Stop.
Stop, Stop. Washington has been open, the Qbs are not throwing to him enough. Which was proven as soon as we changed Qb. Washington targets instantly went up.

Wilson can be a huge upside to this offense. Rodgers may LOVE HIM and make him a star

Sure players can fail for a variety of reasons but a first rd pick is either a bad pick in the first place or a lack of development. Both of those fall on the HC to a degree when the HC is as involved as ours in the draft process. As I mentioned earlier I’m not giving up on him completely but a poor year this season and it’s a big miss.

And He maybe a bad pick that they are trying like hell to get something out of. Like T. Edmunds, who since we let go can't even keep a job. We can find a list if players every year that are drafted in the 1st round that don't pan out . It's the nature of the beast.

hard to say - TEdmunds was a DUMB pick - he would have been there in Rd. 4 (BAD pick and DUMB pick)

    Jones was pretty highly touted.

but yes - he may wash out.....it happens.

it would SUCK, but it happens

If these tackles can both work out it changes alot of this teams immediate future. Here’s to hoping!

If that's the case, hopefully the kid will leave and find a team that has an OC with the brains to use him.
