I didn't watch a lot of film on the backs. He ran pretty good at the combine IIRC. Wouldn't be a bad pick.

Why? Because no RB has been drafted? I think Benny's spot is safe whether we go RB or not. He's RB3 and starting special teamer. Benny Snell isn't getting cut regardless of a RB getting drafted. McFarland is the happy one lol

It's an insult to Austin to call him Gunner. Dude is a legit WR

Is that you Smokey? [IMG] And the card (under a magnifying glass) says 5-8 and 187lbs. He was more like 5-6 and 300 lbs after he hung up his cleats after a most successful late role as a veteran pinch hitter.

Really? Both of them will get playing time. They will instantly be better than Boykin, Miller, and Sims. We very likely just drafted our WR3 and WR4 for next season. These two are going to be the two guys with the most snaps as rookies this year (barring Pickett starting from Day 1).

I like the pick too. I feel SO much better about the WR room than I did a few days ago. It was our main weakness, and it has been addressed. This isn't a Dri Archer thing. Archer was a return specialist that could play RB in a pinch and maybe be split out wide. Austin is a WR who can return a bit, but is mainly known for being a solid slot WR. He should get some playing time this year too with our slot role being by committee (none of our top 3 WR's are natural slot receivers, even though I think all of them can play there in some capacity).

Is Darrian Beavers still available? I don’t see him on the prospect list nor do I see that any team took him.

But what if this guy turns into another Tyreek Hill? He definitely is a better receiver than all of the other small fast twitchy gimmicky guys we took in the past. Most of them were returners or 3rd down rb’s in college with spot starting in their resume. Mel being a Ravens fan was not happy the Steelers got him. As for cb I can see Haden coming back.

    LOL

You honestly can't believe that. Like I get the notion of maybe not liking the EXACT players skill sets/etc., but you can't honestly believe that either of these kids are going to get cut for the likes of Boykin, Sims, and Miller... especially before even showing up to camp.

The commanders FO are such fool reachers without Wentz I bet they'd have drafted Howell at 11 if Howell, Strong, and The shorty the Pats drafted were the only draftable ones.. desperate panicking

They won't say so, but this is them panicking over Bens retirement. Yes He should have retired...on this I agree, but this whole draft has been on that....and a big part of FA. Just look at who We've brought in, and drafted.

You have to remember that the most important stats on this message board are height and weight. Most guys would rather draft a 6'3 carboard cut out than a good football player that's shorter than 5'11''. It's kind of the byproduct of knowing absolutely nothing about football, but being able to tell the difference between 6'1'' and 5'7''. It's the only thing they know/can control. I don't claim to know everything (or anything, really) about scouting, NFL projections, etc., but I am at least smart enough to see that not every 5'7'' guy is Dri Archer and not every 6'3'' guy is Richard Sherman lol

You’re right about a roster spot... I was referring to Snells carries disappearing

Meh. Every year I have defended these selections hoping for the next Darren Sproles. The odds are very against these little dudes making it at this level.

I'd cut the grass if you live in the Pittsburgh area. Supposed to rain tomorrow. Currently rebuilding my carburetor. My grass is a foot high. :roflmao:
