Agreed. That's who I wanted there. This team needs help at safety. If Tuitt does return, Leal might not even get a hat most Sundays.

So... Titans are going to be a problem, if not issue, for years to come. What a hell of a pick.

Goes into a perfect situation and does not need to start. Steal of the draft in my opinion.

That’s a good landing spot for Willis. He has a better chance there than he would with a bottom feeder.

He seems to be a bit undersized for a Steelers DE

I think that was a good pick for the Titans, but Willis falling this far is plenty of evidence that the Steelers made the right choice in passing on him.

Nickle and Dime....well if the NFL wasn't so pass happy then they wouldn't need to run it so much.

Undersized and run support woes are the least of my concerns about him. They are concerns for certain.. but not my biggest one.

His motor is VERY SUSPECT. Some days, he can pop off. Others.. more cold than Lake Michigan.

I wished they would've picked Chenal over Leal

I think they will try Him as a edge rusher(OLB). Great breather for our starters.

Don't you first take away a LB when you run the Nickel?

For what it’s worth, the Athlon Sports Draft magazine I bought has Leal ranked as the number one defensive end and a first round pick

He is 6'4'' 285... Heyward was only 6'5'' 294. I don't think he's that small. Looks the part to me, I'm sure that NFL training could bulk him up just a bit. His arms are an inch shorter than Heyward's. Idk. Only time will tell.

Leal is 6'4" and weighs 285 he does seem light for a DE. Could he line up at Edge in the 3-4?

Been saying this for years now. Whether this changes with the new GM... I cannot say. I will say this...

Leal is only 21, so hopefully the Steelers weight room will be Leal's new hangout.

They run kind of a hybrid nickle/dime defense on most downs.

2 x DT's which are Heyward and whoever
    2 x Edge
    1 x MLB

Then sometimes the safety moves down into the box and either blitz's or drops into coverage

A typical Dime would be 2 x DT and 2 x DE but for the Steelers the DE's are OLBs
