At his pro day he measured 6'2" and weighed 238. Ran a 4.38 forty and has a 42 inch vertical. 10'10" broad jump. Watch his tape, it is really good. He could be special. I watched every Buckeye game he played in, and we got a really good player and an even better kid. I wanted a CB pretty badly too, but man I love this pick. Love it.

Or could it be we didn't have the proper players in place? Once heyward and worilds took over the pressure increased.

Yeah DeCastro looked really awesome taking out one of our best players by doing one of the stupidest moves I have even seen an NFL player do. We did not make the playoffs AGAIN. That is how you judge how well you are doing building your team. One of the biggest reasons we lose games is we absolutely make NO plays on defense. We had TEN interceptions last year. Surprised most of you do not see that as a problem...

And Williams, Moats, Garvin, etc. He better be a perennial All Pro, otherwise a marginal upgrade at best to what we already have. I thought of mocking Mosley, but thought there was no chance in he'll we'd go ILB in the first round.

you seriously need to think about why we only had 10 picks. when the qb has 8 or 9 seconds to throw, he will find someone open. deion sanders and Darrell green couldn't cover that long

I have a feeling you're right. Need to mentally prepare myself.

As for Shazier, I would have loved him in the 2nd so I am coming to terms with it. The last time I wanted an Ohio State LB we took Ziggy Hood instead so I guess I should be happy.

Well, when the CBs play ten yards off the ball, it's kind of hard to get picks on slant passes. The rest of the NFL has figured out LeBeau. Problem is, Tomlin and LeBeau don't realize the rest of the NFL has figured out LeBeau.

So we get a 6'2", 235# LB with more athleticism than any CB out there and you see that as a problem? How does that not help our defense? Plenty of quality CB's left for us to take who aren't that far behind Dennard/Roby. There's only one Shazier, and we have him.

No, apparently he was there, say other posters. I don't remember seeing him on stage, holding a Steelers jersey. Either NFL Net didn't show it, or I was turned away for a moment.

My intoxicated thoughts: With the draft of Spence and the way Troy was used last season as a hybrid ILB S I see a new defense by DL that he wants but has not had the personal to do. A traditional 3-4-4 with the Buck ILB as an optional safety. A wrinkle in the zone blitz. Instead on D-Line dropping in coverage, but a 4.4. ILB dropping in coverage? Sounds good to me?

they have more depth at LB than any of their secondary positions. it wasn't as pressing of a need as CB.

having a luxury of LBs won't make a difference when teams could just bubble screen and play action their way to 10-15 yard gains ON AVERAGE (if not more). oh look, you held their offense to 50 rushing yards, but they passed for over 550. what a way to build depth on defense.

OK so dude makes 1 mistake and he sucks? Sorry but you are way off here. Decastro was mauling anyone that got in front of him down the stretch. He pretty much manhandled Geno Atkins but you know what you're right he made a mistake at the beginning of the season we should just cut him.
