So is that what they are doing up there to send off the show? It's actually been pretty good these last couple of episodes but I have sure have suffered through some severe mediocrity for the past few seasons.

Do they even sale Mtn Dew up there? I bet you've heard of what's called "moonshine" down here. Well an old nickname for moonshine is Mountain Dew. I've heard that it was originally made to mix with moonshine.

Well in Ohio they don't have Dr. Pepper and in a lot of places they don't have Mellow Yellow. That's why I was asking that. I thought maybe Mountain Dew fell in to that category of a southern type drink. I have a friend that lives in Washington state and he said that Pepsi is all people drink up there but in the south Coke is so popular that most soft drinks are just simply referred to as "Coke". Although my great mamaw and papaw called soft drinks "dope" and they would go to Captain D's and say they wanted some fish and a "dope" and the young people there would look at them like they were crazy. LOL.

Well about 12 years ago me and one of my buddies went up to San Dusky to go to Cedar Point for a week and when we would go to fast food restaurants they would look at me like I was stupid when I said I wanted a Dr. Pepper. So that's why I was saying that. But if you're from up north don't you guys say "pop"? LOL.

It's funny you mention that. Check out this map that shows where people say coke vs pop vs soda. :D

Probably not sold much in fast food/restaurants, usually they just carry coke, pepsi and sprite but it's available in stores.

So it IS a Mason/Dixie thing. I thought so. I always hate it when people call it a "pop" because I'm WAY given to southern ways of doing things. LOL.

I wouldnt really say its a M/D line thing. If you look at TTFs map about 95% of the northeast say soda north of the M/D. The M/D line ends just short of the western corner of Pa and WV. However if you were so inclined to continue the M/D line to the Pacific Ocean looks like you would be correct.

I was put on this earth in the year 1960 and I have never nor have I ever heard anyone order a pop in my little slice of heaven we like to refer to as Norteast Pa.

Whatever yinz drinking is on me my friend!!

Great map. I've had this discussion a lot of times. My extended family is mostly from "pop" country originally and I did a few years in the midwest where it was "pop". My sister and I grew up in "Coke"-land (What do you want to drink? Coke! What kind? Sprite! lol). Around here it's split between soda and Coke. Very interesting.

Good to see you VA! Don't be such a stranger! As far as what you said about ordering coke but meaning Sprite I know exactly what you mean. I can't tell you the time when I've visited someone who asked me if I wanted a coke and brought out Dr. Pepper or Sprite or Mellow Yellow or even some generic thing that they've convinced themselves are "just as good". LOL. There's no substitute for Coke which I'm sure many remember from the debacle that was "new coke". I think the only cool thing to come from that was Max Headroom as the spokesmen. Also Mountain Dew has been doing this thing where they released a throwback that was made with "real sugar". Is that what Coke and Mountain Dew used to taste like before my time in 82? I've talked to some people that said they thought the throwback wasn't as good. What say you as a coke expert? LOL.

Well so long Dunder Mifflin. Even though for the past 2 and a half seasons you've been really crappy I still thank you for the many laughs you've given me as I watch the first 6 and a half seasons over and over again. At least your final episode was really good. I will sure miss you Creed Bratton. You are the man. Enjoy your new home.
