    good play call? No.

I've heard football guys even bring it up... that was a crazy play call with unnecessary risk.

Yeah, it's really been bugging me how much this is getting overlooked.

No, but Landry couldn't keep the offense on the field, so the Bengals had much more opportunity to score than they potentially would have otherwise.

You can catch a ball, bobble it, and regain control. You do not need to control it every second. There's examples of this all of the time.

If he drops the ball when he lands his flip it's no catch.

He had control, lost it, regained it before he landed and play was over with him controlling the ball. ..that is the way the league has been calling catches the past couple years.

Morale boost for Bagels, Landry couldn't do anything. At least with Ben he could eat up time.

It doesn't matter... he got both feet in, bobbled and regained control. If he was bobbling when he had a body part out of bounds then it would have been no catch. or if he lost the ball when landing - no catch. But he did control it. I'm just saying this is what the nfl has been doing. I remember a catch that was called a no catch - when an opponent caught the ball...turned up field and kneed the ball out...I thought it was a fumble they called it no catch.

Browns had catches like this... We got screwed on this against the ravens and the league acknowledged the mistake.

He had control when his feet were in....he lost control after that fact...and re established. If he did not re establish control it would not be a catch because you have to control it at the end also. So it's a TD as soon as he has it in the endzone. he could have negated that by not re establishing control.

if you catch a ball with both feet in on the side line it's a catch... BUT if you then follow that by losing the ball when landing out of bounds its not a catch. EVEn though you had two feet in and control at that moment. I'm just not explaining it well. my bad.

I should also mention he had 3 feet touch the endzone...so it wasn't even a matter of getting 2 feet down... he had taken a step in the endzone...and held on to it at the end.

I'm hearing the same thing from my co-workers and some friends today, how they thought the Steelers organization used to be classy but it seems the coaches and players are out of control just as much as the Bengals.

Honestly I think Trump said it best yesterday or today. That the NFL is soft now and that people are not used to the old school hard hitting and nasty games. We are used to that in the AFC North but when other fans/journalists see these games for the first time they think it should be like synchronized swimming. HELLO IT'S FOOTBALL!

You're right. You're arguing with a Bengals fan. Other team's fans are not welcome to post in the Steelers Talk forum. These got accidentally approved. Carry on.

And is that Landry's fault? Not really... Haley called way too many pass plays at the start of the 4th. 5 of 8 passes... for a guy coming in cold, who hadn't played in a few weeks, and got zero snaps in practice all week long - that was a sure shot at failure. Sure, you can't run it every time, but you certainly shouldn't go pass-heavy either.

Shazier was an absolute stud the other night. I'm still ticked that they took his td away from him. Has the league even came out and said that he should have had a td on that play? Was it absolutely established that Bernard touched him while he was down and in complete control of the ball? Wouldn't that be the only way they could truly say he was down? Shazier and Tuitt are looking good and honestly I think Dupree played pretty well in that game for a rookie.

Or that it should have been 22-0.

The Bengals meltdown has overshadowed the poor officiating IMO.

It was absolutely atrocious play calling. I'm Haley's biggest supporter here but that was just dumb.

They also conveniently missed a false start and a taunting penalty on the Green TD.

Peter King picked Shazier as defensive player of the week - some people did notice

I've watched the Bryant catch many times and never seen his hand come off the ball at all
3 feet down? maybe , maybe not its close
    definitely 2 though

I thought he got three when I watched it again. It was honestly what I thought was most impressive. That 3rd foot is just showing out! LOL!
