The most overrated Steeler?

Interesting thread. My gut is to reply "Woodley" but I can listen to the talk on Troy. He's not the most overrated of all time though.

Troy's career path is starting to be similar to Mel Blount. Blount, for all his Hall of Fame greatness, was really only great in the middle part of his career (1975-1980). Prior to that he was considered to be the weak link in the Steelers secondary, and in the last 3 years of it he was burned regularly.

As far as underrated old 70s Steelers go- I nominate Gerry Mullins. He was one of those short pulling guards Noll loved, and if you watch old game films, you will continually see him put monster blocks on people. He is also, I believe, the only Steelers lineman to score a TD in a postseason game.

No way you can say Woodley is over rated due to one bad year. The fact of the matter is even with that one bad year he is still on pace to destroy the dongers sack record. Also Woodley has been huge in every playoff game.

Thanks. It's good to be back on board. I made a brief cameo appearance during the draft, but otherwise been cold turkey on the board and football since the atrocity of the Super Bowl.
