I have friends who look at this board but are not Steeler fans. I just got a text from one of them asking if that picture is real or AI generated.

I do blame Smith and Tomlin too because he signs off on the game plan. They were running the ball just fine but for some reason they wont fully commit too it.

This loss falls largely on his shoulders. He played like absolute garbage. Early deep shot to Metcalf was way off target. Midrange shot to smith on 3rd down was way high. Smith probably should have caught it, but he was wide open and that ball was too high. On a shot to CA3 he was short. Now the defensive back made an outstanding play to bat down the pass, but the only reason he had a chance was the pass being short. Mr darkness retreat was embarrassingly bad

If there is a silver lining... it was a west coast road game. Steelers usually stink it up on the west coast. I've been complaining about this since the Cowher days. Raiders seem to be the only team we can beat on the west coast, LATELY. We've had several stinkers vs Raiders in Oakland during the Ben era.

From what I watched, I don’t know what else to take away from last night other than Rodgers was utterly horrible. It happens to all QBs at some point, but for a solid vet to be THAT bad is very uncommon.

If he hits 2 out those 3 deep misses in the first half, and doesn’t throw the putrid interception, the game is totally different. Maybe even if he just hits 1 of the 3 w/o the int considering how the defense was playing up until the int.

OC just OK is being generous. One game with more than 400 yards all year against a woeful Bengals D. No identity to speak of

Rodgers checks out of plays like that slant to Metcalf near the goal line, then Dupree dropped into coverage and Rodgers had nowhere to throw the ball except into the ground.

in a way Tomlin is ruining what reputation he has. The longer he sticks around and gets mediocre results the more shine wears off his superbowl years. 8 years ago he couldve easily gotten a nice gig in the broadcasting booth, like jimmy johnson. He could still get one but i think the contract may be less, and hes looking more and more like a has been. That being said, he should quit and retire with Rodgers at the end of the year and get into the booth or NFL today, might still be entertaining.

Cowher built a great team and culture in the 2000s....One bad season in 2006 for different reasons don't change that

I've been saying this for years. Tomlin needs to get on with his life's work.... NFL analyst on either NFL Network, ESPN/ABC, CBS, FOX or Prime. He would excel at this... even more than Cowher has... and Cowher is an excellent analyst for CBS.

The real problem is not finding ways to get DK Metcalf the ball early and often. And because he's not a diva he's not making a stink about it. At $30mil, we need to be featuring DK and making Defensive backs half to tackle him. "But...but...but... they're doubling him all the time". We'll what #1 WR is not being doubled?. Why not start the game off with 3 scripted passes to DK instead of scripting them to a TE. Steelers offense should start with DK 3 of the 5 first scripted plays every single game . No matter what.

When Mike drops his pretentious coach b.s., he's actually a pretty likeable guy. He would probably be good in the booth but I seriously doubt he's ready for that yet.

no but if this is indeed a trend Tomlin and the Steelers have only themselves to blame for bringing in a 42 year old Qb in the hope of a “quick fix”

if this happens its comical and sad, two years in a row were trying to rehab old has beens in the hope of a desperate attempt by Tomlin to win a playoff game. Once is ok, but twice? It’ll start to look really silly. Who do we rehab next year? Joe Flacco? I think Tomlin should retire.

    :lolol:

Do you even remember what happened that year to our franchise QB? Appendectomy and Motorcycle crash will put a damper on things, to say the least. Ben was not himself until 2007 and it was obvious. It took him a year to get over it.

Definitely agree that MT luster is fading fast but I'd like to see him become HC of another team to see if a change of scenery helps him get a fresh start. Maybe Miami, AZ, or NO. I see what Vrabel is doing in NE and the fit is obviously very good for him and the Pats. Probably not going to happen and we'll still be talking about the same crap in 2030 after the steelers go on year 15 without a postseason win but Ole Mike will have 23 non losing seasons.
