My only real complaint so far this season is we need to keep pounding the run game. Run the ball 70%of the time. Just keep doing it. Seen our offense thrive off the run this season.

I don't know... if it's the coaches changing out of that, if the QB is changing out of it, whatever or why. My complaint is we abandon our run game when we should be leaning on it.

Regardless of who calls the plays this is Mike Ts D and he can override whatever the issues might be. He is supposed to be a defensive guru we spent the most money on D and yet have a bottom 5 unit. At what point is this man held accountable???? Unreal the apologists. He’s the freaking HC!

That's some crap you guys made up Tomlin was a DB coach then DC for one year, how does that make a guy a defensive guru?

I think they said Warren only had three carries in the second half against the Packers.

Well we know he’s not an offensive mind and his entire coaching background is on D. So if he’s not good at that either WTF is he here??? I know your not AR2 and can’t answer this.

Tomlin’s best days have been long behind him for a while now. I know its not all coaching, (Watt and Cam may be done too), but alot of it is. The next coach should be an up and coming OC or DC, a no nonsense type.

This thread could get quite long.

Using Bill Belichick as an example, there's have been some others.....
Bills got rings all over his fingers, mostly because he got into a great front office situation (and ownership) and stumbled upon Tom Brady.
Doesn't hurt that Bill is a very good defensive coordinator and smart enough to find/hire a good offensive coordinator.
That magic alone set the wheels in motion to turn a franchise from an also ran to a championship caliper franchise.
But Bills didn't adapt to the new ways and additionally thought he could run the entire franchise.
That added up to fail as the result was a salary strapped, aging team that wasn't moving assets to acquire picks to bring in youth or trade for difference makers.
    And some other stuff.

It's well established that Mike Tomlin can win with average teams.
But he had a much shorter drop to reality than Bill since he isn't sporting two fists full of rings.
The front office isn't doing him any favors either.
He's very stubborn in not recognizing what/who is failing. He sticks with 'his guys' and 'the old ways' far too much.
His staff smells the same scent I remember when I went to see Aunt Augustine in the old folk's home.
And if they've given him the keys to the front office and they are functioning so poorly, well, like Bill he just isn't that skilled.
I hate using this example, but Pickens is a prime example. That dysfunctional mess landed in Dallas, and they don't care as long as he catches passes, and he's doing exactly that.
That's an example of managing your talent failure.

Bob Dylan once crooned "The Times, They are a-changin'"
It's probably time to go work on his golf game.

He can’t have input on players he can’t have input on coordinators he isn’t a defensive guru….. why don’t we just you know FIRE HIM!! Unbelievable

We have to put up all these guard rails because of how much he sucks and he’s won 3 playoff games in 15 years. Absolutely maddening.

I am not part of the Tomlin calls the defense crowd. Having said that I do think he has a heavy hand in the defense's gameplanning.

It is more important to me to get rid of Austin at this point since he is the one actually calling the defense in game. Tomlin may have input about defensive gameplanning, but he isnt calling the plays. Austin is a bad in game coordinator and that is on Tomlin and Kahn, they should of recognized this already and made a change.

Austin may be awful at in game play calling and may be awful at preparing as well however…….. he is nothing more than a figure head to take the blame for our bum HC. Wake up Wizard! Why do you think Mike keeps surrounding himself with these incompetent pawns.

Here I’ll help you with your confusion

Tomlin has 9 years of defensive coaching experience

    He coaches defense

Now let’s look at the word Guru which is currently causing you a brain fart and see if you can add two plus 2

I don't think anybody has denied that Tomlin is involved in the schemes or game planning, some hardheaded fans want to claim he calls all of the defensive plays though.
