How can yo knock a 3rd string QB for playing well against 3rd string talent? Either you think he isnt 3rd string talent which means he should play well or he is 3rd string talent and playing above that level....so which is it?

Tomlin once said of MR that he should have looked like the best players on the field, and he did. At this point in his career, MR should look like the primary backup vs 3rd string.

 

No, it hasn't and I don't teach middle school. Maybe I should bring that level of expectations into some of these conversations.

They gave Trubisky three possessions, including a touchdown drive. That isn't pulling him super fast. I think they were trying to figure out if Morgan was worth a spot on the practice squad. I would hope they already knew he wouldn't ever be more than that.

I really am sorry to see so many people here being fooled by a fifth-year veteran lighting up a bunch of guys who will be unemployed by the opener.
