I have a hard time seeing Allen get out of the top 5/top 10. But like you said, it's early.

You take a look at Ed Oliver at all?

I think he's a top 5 pick all day long but character questions could cause a slide.

If he slides out of the top 10, I trade up and go get him.

    Heyward-Hargrave-Oliver-Tuitt across the line.

Second coming of the Steel Curtain.

As much as I still dream of a CB or S, I think pass rusher could be on the menu again this year. So many options.

Guys like Bosa, Allen, Oliver, Gary, Sweat, Ferrell, and Polite.

Seriously doubt Pittsburgh goes all in for defense. 2016 was an anomaly. Prior to that, that had not been done in over 30 or so years.

Like NB stated, Josh Allen is a top 10 pick; top five in my opinion. Him dropping that far would shock me barring any extreme circumstances. Regarding the interior though.. someone like Ed Oliver or even RaShan Gary. Those two would be intriguing indeed.

I like oliver but do we really want to bring in another player with questionable character?

Interviews will tell that story. Obviously there was the well documented argument with his coach. Outside of that, he looks clean. I know he chose to go to Houston to avoid recruiting nonsense and because his brother played there.

There is so much talent this year along the Dline and pass rushers it's crazy. Will be heavy defense in Round 1.

It is likely and unlikely simultaneously. Pittsburgh shifted away from that after the 2014 NFL Draft. From 2015 onward, the theme was "Hearts 'n' Smarts." That said, I would look into his character issues. See if they are detrimental to the team. Base his value and worth to the team off of that.

Vetting of players is critical, Steelers FO need to due
their due diligence and talk to everybody every where
about players they are interested in, Too much money involved
    to miss on character issues.

I trust your homework but holy LBs. I would like to see maybe 2 CBs drafted or a CB and a true FS. I also think we need a RB no later than the 4th or 5th stretching it. Would really love to know if they are ever gonna do something with Brian Allen(FS?) and if Marcus is gonna be more of a undersized LB. That would help in drafting other areas of need.

It's early and things change. Gilbert can move and has started a lot of games for akron. Adams the kid from Kansas St. is a shazier type of SS/ILB. I like Davis and think we grab a FA fs. Ellis is just a football player.
The kid plays both ways and special teams. Sort of a Samuels clone that can play defense too. Would make a good special teams player.

Heads will explode. I think WR is deep this year and we have a knack for developing them anywhere we draft them. ILB,OLB and CB and me personally would throw FS in there as rather large needs. We have some cash so the FA market may help dictate the draft even more than usual.

Depends how it all plays out. DHB and Hunter should be gone. I do agree that allen needs to get on the field. Adding Brice Brown and allen to the mix would help fill the DB room quite well I think.

I'll go ahead with an early one...

    1. Byron Murphy CB Wash. I think he lasts til this spot at #20. A lot of DTs should go off the board, maybe 2 QBs, the other CB Baker so he could make it to 20.

    2. Oshane Ximines OLB Old Dominion. Small school for sure, but let's see how he does at the Senior Bowl

    3. Jace Sternberger TE Texas A&M. They looked at TEs mid season so that tells me they want to add to the position. He needs work on his blocking but he is an oversized WR type.

    4. Chase Claypool WR Notre Dame. Big target, lets say goodbye to the Justin Hunter experiment

    5. Traded away I believe.

    6. from Raiders?? IIRC. Jake Bailey P Stanford. Lets get some consistency here. I'm OK with a 6th on STs

    6. Khalil Hodge ILB. Buffalo. Excellent pick in the 6th imo. Maybe flip flop with the other 6th rounder.

    7. They'll draft an OT somewhere. Jackson Barton T Utah.

    reboot:

i think with ola and adams waiting in the wings we could be alright at OLB.
would love to see deone bucannon brought in. he would help at ILB with safety coverage skills. he and burnett could make this sub package work how it was intended.

    1. blace brown CB troy. size is good. speed really good. smart. he will be moving up these charts. first rd. # 20 isn't too early for a very good corner.

    2. ulysees gilbert ILB akron. fast kid lots of playing time in college. productive.

    3. ryan bee DT/DE marshall. tough kid can play inside or DE in our system and help out in sub package two down pass situations.

    4. kiy hester CB/FS/K ret.. rutgers/ transfer from miami 6-0 208 4.48 down range. versatile kid can play many spots in the secondary. that backup FS spot as well. ret. capable.

    5. dru samia see above

    6.

    7.

    open, waiting on signings.

I thought that was a bit low, maybe we get a mid-rounder in a package deal for AB84 and we can use that...
