I heard on the radio recently that quarterbacks had a 113 rating when throwing to receivers Butler was covering. I cannot find stats that bear this out.

I know Burns may have regressed, but do we think the Steelers would really sign Butler to a F A contract and sit Burns/Sutton/Haden?

No chance Butler is coming here. With all the nonsense that goes on here do we really need a player that got benched for the Super Bowl for disciplinary reasons? Maybe if we did get him he and Bell can skip next year's AFCC walk-through together.

    That’s why Bell skipped walkthrough!
He was trying to trick the Jags.

Like the Eagles fake walk through.

We need S/ILB/NT way more than a CB.

Butler is overrated, he is average but will command a hefty price. He gets a lot of safety help, and it is one of the reasons the Pats defense was struggling early on. The other issues was his benching, I don't know what he did but their were guys saying he was getting torched at practice to the point they had Rowe taking first team snaps before Butler ended up in Belicheats dog house.

Wasn't a thread on Butler recently? They won't be spending big money on a free agent CB, Butler is coming off a bad season anyway not interested.

If the Steelers are interested in a CB I would rather a young stud like Kyle Fuller. Only 25 and I know when he came out he was one of my favorites, however with our cap situation I think ILB and S will come before a CB. So in a nut shell....no to Butler

    Thanks for the list.

Tre Boston stands out with 5 picks and 79 tackles. Played 16 games. Only 25. Here is his market value:

Issue is the Bell situation. Even franchising him for another season would put the brakes on a quality FA of any kind.

I feel they will draft one high to start and have Haden call the secondary signals.

Agree with the Boston thinking would be a very nice fit. However I totally disagree with the thoughts of us not having money for FA. I would be willing to bet even with a Bell signing we still have 10 mil to spend in FA. I have said this before and posted how it could happen so I am not gonna post it again but in short with cuts we could get 20 mil and with extensions and restructures I am hopeful another 5-10. I just don't know how much we can free up going that route that is above my pay grade lol.

If he would accept a similar deal that Mitchell signed when he came here 5 yrs 25 million, then it could work he will probably be out of the Steelers price range though.

Butler seems like one of those guys some team will overpay for and he will get exposed, he was helped by playing in the Patriots system IMO.

Boston seems to be the only one thats really worth it. 8mil a year would be hefty, but worth it maybe? Then we can trade up and get a rangy ILB like we desperately need now.
